Just Give Me 10 days Round 309

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 309 (my 239th).
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
- an additional goal for me (again) this round is to have a totally 10-day binge free round.
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.
I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life."Health is wealth".
SW Rnd 309 Using weight from 9/20; first weigh in on return from holiday – 146.3
9/17 DNW - 6.3 miles walked. Had a lovely day, hotel spoiled us last night, all sensible eating went out the window!!
9/18 DNW - 9.3 miles walked. Caught the bus to Ibiza Town, wandered around the port, castle, cathedral & maze of old streets.
9/19 DNW - 8.94 miles walked, did favourite walk of the holiday to the lighthouse and back along the coastal rocks & pm last lay on beach & swim in the sea.
9/20 146.3 – that’s the holiday damage!! And a shock to be 0.3 pounds back into the BMI overweight category !! My giddy aunt!! Here we go working to lose 1.5 pound by the end of the round. No structured walking due to flying back home.
9/21 144.6 – that’s a better number, at least I am back in the normal BMI range. No structured walking, took our 2 little DGS out for the day whilst DD & SIL went to the theatre for a Friends parody show – they have always been great fans. We took the boys bowling as the weather was inclement, and all had a wonderful time. Eating well back on track.
9/22 143.8 – 7.9 miles walked. Settled well into sensible eating pattern, restarted morning stretching & toning exercises.
9/23 143 – 11.24 miles walked.
9/24 141.8 – 6.55 miles walked. Lunch out with FF including my 3 sisters, they all started their wight loss journey at the beginning of the year, and between them have lost my total weight – I am so proud of them.
9/25 143 – 5.4 miles walked before the celebration of life of an old friend, caved in & indulged in some cake after the sandwiches, used those afternoon refreshments as my evening meal, but then after our dance class felt so weak with hunger that when we got home I had a sandwich. Unfortunately eating that late before bed meant that the food sat in my stomach & kept me awake way into the early hours, should have had a sensible light meal before dancing!

9/24 173.09/25 173.8 Yikes, I had planned higher calories but it became a mini binge day. It started off well with a great full body strength with my friends but my day just kind of fell apart.
I knew I’d have the day off. Rain started earlier then expected so I did not accomplish my home garden project. And my day just fell like dominos. I didn’t complete any thing.
Oh wait, I finished an entire bag of trail mix that I impulse bought when I realized I forgot to buy coffee. I also finished an entire mini cheesecake but barely touched my healthy dinner.
I did not get all of the items for our yard sale Saturday into one place, I did not finish swapping seasonal cloths, I did not get the Halloween decorations out of the attic, I did not make any progress on the furniture I’m restoring. I didn’t vacuum, I didn’t mop and I didn’t sit down to do paperwork, scheduling or billing.I just could not complete anything. I was restless but also exhausted. I know it’s got to be hormonal. I was scared of the scale this morning but all things considered not the worst it could be.
Today is another rain day, let’s see if I can do any better!!!4 -

Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. You have only one hour to edit your post. Post every day to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non-scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share. Make the board your own - track what is important for YOUR JOURNEY.
FOR NEWBIES
- I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all the posts.

SW Rnd 3️⃣0️⃣9️⃣ 232.2 Goal 229.x9/18 231.4 ~ Travel day. Didn't take any travel snacks…stopped and had lunch. Went to the nearby casino that evening and just had a sandwich.
9/19 DNW ~ Morning at Hotel before picking up Princess Lola, then travel day. We picked up some ribs (recommended by a friend) on the way back knowing that I wasn't going to cook. They weren't very good and I was tired so I didn't eat much.
9/20 230.8 ~
9/21 231 ~ Back to regular scheduled programming :)
9/22 231 ~ midday weigh-in, so possibly lower. My schedule is a bit out of whack. I didn't get 5 consecutive hours last night, more like 2.5. As long as she does "something" when I take her out, I'm not upset at all. I just wish I could fall back to sleep as quickly as she does. I refuse to start the day before 6am, but at 6, we're up and out to start the day. Then puppy breakfast, out again, then puppy play. By 10ish, she's a bit worn out so down she goes and out I go to get my walk and/or exercise in (2 miles today). I return and eventually she wakes up….we play, we have lunch, we potty, we play, we nap, repeat! Lola is doing great! It's the DH that I am about to choke…"when do you think she will be potty trained", "how will you know", "how long can we leave her alone", "do we need to put a leash on her" (yes, we have a fence but she's much too small). And those are just the ones I can think of at the moment~
9/23 229.8 ~ late weigh-ins might be the new normal. I get up and get started with the puppy and don't get to me stuff until about 9am. Oh, well, I'm still figuring out "our" schedule but I like this number! Last night, she amazed me…. We were down for about 4 almost 5 hours and I thought…hmm, haven't heard her. I turned over and once she saw me move, she gave me a big sign to let me know she was awake and ready…. she waited for me!!! I'm calling her my emotional support dog. She does make me happy! Today was my son's 36th birthday. I made him cookies and have for every year except one (when my sister died)….at any rate…took Lola down and she got to meet her "brother".
9/24 230.6 ~ Lola slept in, so I got to weigh early. I think I prefer the later version!!
9/25 230..8 ~ Early morning again. Took an exercise break yesterday. Climbing into bed on Tuesday night, I realized how happy I am with my new puppy and how good it felt to need to take care of her and to have her appreciate it. I am her person….but now I have to work on separation anxiety! I'm also finding I need to reorganize a few things in my house. I had made adjustments for children, but children don't grab your throw rug and drag it across the floor, grab your shoes and run with them, attempt to chew on wicker baskets on the floor, drag the box of firestarters for the fire pit… I think you get the idea!! 🤣 I feel like I'm settling into a routine for both of us and it's nice.
9/26
9/27@quiltingjaine ~ Are you doing ok? Last I recall, you were having some dizziness. Ok, I see your update today and I think you need to go see a doctor, unless you did already and just didn't mention it. Make sure you are taking care of YOU!!!
@SModa61 ~ How's your Mom doing with the new aid?
@miscanon3617 ~ I didn't get a chance to comment on your 9/21 post. Love that video…and what's weird, the kid in it (from a distance) looks a LOT like my son, even dances like my son! I was about to text him to see if he had made such a video, as it was something he would do… then the guy came on at the end of the video, nope, not my son! :) I also shared the video with my husband who is a HUGE Earth Wind and Fire fan. They are 2nd only to the Jacksons!
@stephanj ~ There is a relation between food and joint pain. In my case, I haven't exactly figured it out but about a year ago, I had such stiffness and joint pain, especially after sitting. I would get up and have to stretch before walking….I chalked it up to getting older and needing to exercise more….until it went away. The only thing I've reduced (that I'm aware) is taking a protein supplement, in a smoothie which also included protein-rich yogurt and I had it almost every day. I do want to introduce protein back again but I will be very in tuned to my joints!
@fermatamb7212 ~ congrats on hitting the next decade!!!
@Jane022896 ~ Welcome!
@deepwoodslady ~ what book did you read and what's your next book to read? I'm glad you enjoyed the club. I actually have a book club meeting tonight and I have 3 hours left in the book. I don't think I will finish. It's an ok read but I'm not enjoying the story line or where it seems to be going. We started a year ago August. There was one other book that I didn't finish in time for the meeting but I did finish it. This one, I probably won't attempt to finish 🤨
@musicsax ~ Congrats to your sisters! Great news!!
@Skyleen75 ~ I didn't know what I was missing. I think I have laughed more in the past week than I have in the last year!
@Chapter_3 ~ The OLD LADY of The Lake Oak is beautiful. What a nice surprise for you too!
@ashleycarole86Glad your financial planning meeting went well and that totally sounds like motivation to put you and your DH first and focus on health!@SheilaBoneham ~ How exciting to see you return! Good for you for taking that break, hard to believe it's almost been a year. Welcome back!

@itladyee The last book was "The Women" by Kristin Hannah. I did enjoy it for the most part. I liked her writing style (mainly) and have checked out the book "Winter Garden" by her to read over the next couple of weeks. It came highly recommended.
The book for the club this month is "House with good bones" by T. Kingfisher. It is much shorter which is why I think I can fit "Winter Garden" in. These are fiction books.

Thanks for all the welcome backs!
@Skyleeen75 That’s about all I’ve been doing—gardening and knitting. I reconfigured some of my garden beds this summer, which was a bit of work. I also knit my first pair of socks last year, and in January I decided I wanted to learn more about socks, so challenged myself to knit one pair per month. I’ve exceeded my goal, so that’s been fun. Also some sweaters, a vest for DH for this coming Christmas, hats, mittens, shawls. Have I mentioned that I love knitting? 😂 Anyway, I won’t bore the group with too much, but here are a couple of photos. (I can’t remember how to make them smaller—sorry.)

@SheilaBoneham I remember you! Welcome back! Gardening, knitting, and reading sounds great. I’m impressed you maintained with so much time away. I suppose you mastered the “lifestyle change” part of this!

@quiltingjaine I was worried about your health! Glad things are improving a bit but I hope you’ve seen your doctor. That’s too much vertigo!
@Chapter_3 Cool tree and you and your husband look and sound so sweet together 🩷
@itladyee whew the puppy care sounds harder than parenting a baby. I remember complaining about my puppy and her destruction to a coworker that had 3 kids and felt really silly, but then she said “at least the baby will stay in one place for a while!” I’m glad you’re finding fulfillment from it!

I went over on calories, carbs, and fats yesterday but indulging on the last serving of my diary free ice cream. I was hungry and I wanted something sweet after all the stress of the week and unexpected travel (followed by a month of seemingly non-stop travel). I'm happy to see and hopefully I can stay mindful enough during this trip to not completely undo all my hard work. I'm sure with all this eating out we'll be doing across these 3 days, I'll be dealing with some bloating no matter my mindfulness and ability to meet goals.I'll be back next round! See you then!

I’m Amanda, 5’2” 40F in Appalachian Virginia.
Non-scale goals (tracked for prior day):
🏃🏻♀️ Intentional movement 7/10 days
🚫 No alcohol 7/10 daysSW Rnd 309: 129.0
RGW: 128.09/18 - 130.6🏃🏻♀️🚫 Didn’t have a bad day yesterday. Just bouncing back from being a little dehydrated after drinking wine. I’ve been doing a 5-day express strength program on Peloton all week. Daily 20-minute full body progressive overload with dumbbells. They go by quickly but the soreness is starting to add up. It feels good to be more consistent with strength training though. I’ve been substituting at middle schools all week. Middle school starts at 7:30 here 🥱 My sleep has been good but I still find it challenging to wake up at 6. Tomorrow I’m actually subbing in my son’s 1st grade class! It has a later start and I get to see inside his day at school.
9/19 - 130.2 🏃🏻♀️ Drank wine and ate cake with my neighbor last night 🤦🏻♀️ Subbing in my son’s class was a blast! However, it showed me that he needs some reading remediation at home. He was completely unplugged during that portion of class. Sad to see it but glad to be aware of it now. His teacher has told me nothing.
9/20 - 130.2. Didn’t meet either non-scale goal yesterday and just really didn’t treat my body well. We went to a brewery, at which I drank, then ate cheeseburger pizza very late. It felt so wrong to do that to my body, that I actually realize I have come a long way in my thinking. It’s rare for me to do that, so instead of beating myself up about it I’m acknowledging that what used to be near-daily behavior (in my 20s) is now super rare. Now I need to move forward and shift my behavior. So far this round I’m not doing great with that.
9/21 - 131.2 🏃🏻♀️ Boy we’ve had a social few days here, which has resulted in drinking 3 days in a row. I’ve been through plenty of phases of this but it isn’t where I wish to be. I also have not been mindful of what I’m eating, including so far today. DH is grilling but I need to figure out what veggies we can have with the meat. I shook out of my stupor and got on the Peloton bike for a low impact workout. That made me feel better! Planning to head into Monday on a high note!
9/22 - 131.6 🏃🏻♀️🚫 A deserved gain. Using today to reset. It feels like I still haven’t mentally bounced back from vacation mode which is very annoying. Planning on a dog walk and strength training, as well as grocery shopping to prepare for the week.
9/23 - 130.8 🏃🏻♀️🚫 Happy to be down a bit after the weekend but not feeling optimistic about reaching my 128.0 goal for the round. Having a good day so far today! Woke up at 6 to lift weights before work and had a high-ish protein breakfast. I got very hungry before lunch but still ate fairly reasonably. Tonight I’m getting together with friends sooo I obviously will have some challenges there.
9/24 - 130.0 🏃🏻♀️ Overindulged at my event last night but I’ve been on track today. I even tracked everything before dinner to make sure. My weight today was probably low due to dehydration so I don’t expect to see today’s work pay off tomorrow, but that’s okay. Just need more days like today in a row!
9/25 - 129.6 🏃🏻♀️🚫 I guess my good work yesterday did pay off a bit. Still above my RSW and don’t see it getting to my goal in the next 2 days. I am feeling anxious today and I’m not sure why. I’m co-hosting a baby shower on Saturday. It’s just dinner at a restaurant so it’s very easy, but I keep feeling like I should be doing more. 6yo has his first camp out for scouts the same day, and DH is supposed to take both boys so I can prep/go to the shower then join them for the night. But the weather is looking bad so I don’t really want to go at all. Health/fitness-wise I squeezed in my 20 minute express workout and a short dog walk with the 4yo. Cooking pork chops for dinner tonight with Brussels sprouts and homegrown butternut squash. Hopefully having a quiet evening at home will recenter me.

9/18: 180.0 😊Well, this was my goal for yesterday. 🤣Lunch out with the fam, then tap class.💃
9/19 180.4 🤨Not really sure why there was an increase with as much activity as I had yesterday??? In addition, I had a surplus of calories. So frustrating! But I’m not giving up. Went for a short walk this morning and practiced tap. Then went to an art fair and walked around all evening. Lots of activity again. We’ll see tomorrow.
9/20: 181.3 😔Late night eating and drinking. Today I have a bridal shower and then another outing with friends this evening. Sadly, I’m not expecting tomorrow to be any better.
9/21: 180.4 😊Well, this is a step in the right direction. I didn’t eat anything at the bridal shower because there was essentially nothing gluten free for me to eat. Plus, the food that was there was intermingled with crackers that I could not have. I can’t explain the hurt and feelings of betrayal considering that this was a shower for a future family member. I really didn’t think I needed to say on the invitation that I’m celiac. Whatever. I’ve decided that my future RSVPs will say that I will be happy to attend if my food safety is protected. Yes, I could take a separate meal for myself, but that is just weird. While I was standing there looking at the food wondering what on earth here is safe, the bride-to-be flippantly said to me, “Sorry, I don’t know what is gluten free here.” So sorry for my rant.
On a positive note, I went to an event full of food trucks (about 15 of them) and figured that I wouldn’t find anything I could eat…but I DID!!! I was so happy! We had a good time. Nice to end on a positive note.
9/22: 179.3 🎉I am happy, but not getting attached. However, motivation is high today! Yesterday, we had lasagna that I made last winter…in the freezer, of course. I entered the recipe in MFP and was a little mind-blown.🤯I mean, I knew it would be a lot, but…wow! Okay, so I cut them in smaller pieces and got it down to a reasonable size. If anything, I understood how the weight creeped on me. It also showed me that this indeed is a lifestyle and that I will need to keep track of this forever. I also am reminded that I need to be patient while my body decides to give up the fat!
9/23: 180.5 🤨Today was tap class. That was it for movement. Yesterday, I walked and practiced tap. 🤷♀️
9/24: 178.1 😊If I can bounce around in the 170s for a while, I will be happy. It’s sad when a life event creates a speedbump in your progress. For me, it was the wedding (before, during, and after). One thing that was different last night—we didn’t have anything to snack on at all after dinner. Wow! If that was it, I need to do that every day, but it was HARD! We’ve cut back to only watery fruits after dinner (grapes, oranges, etc), which has helped. Maybe I can gradually work my way towards making this a habit.
9/25: 178.5 😊Please again. NSV: I’m also feeling better in my clothes! I haven’t gone down a size
because I’ve been wearing clothes that are too tight. 🤣So now they are comfortable. Last night was chicken fajitas! I haven’t made those in a while. So yummy. Today’s Thursday lunch out with the fam was a bust. My husband picked up my salad and they had breading on the chicken. 👎That is NOT gluten free. I had one bite before it hit me. 🤞that I don’t have a reaction. NSV: Tap was super fun today and I feel so much stronger in my knees! That was my goal, so yay! 🎉
@pezhed Dinner sounds yummy ! Love butternut squash. DH won’t eat brussel sprouts.
@deepwoodslady Traveling is super hard on weight loss ! I feel your struggle!!! Also, I’m reading “The Women” by KH right now!! It’s an in-between-book-club-read for me.
@SheilaBoneham We sound like sisters from different mothers . I picked up knitting five years ago and absolutely love it. I also love gardening!! Beautiful knitting and garden!
@itladyee I ’m cracking up picturing your puppy getting into everything. Sounds like a great distraction! 🤣Also, thanks for the shout out!
@quiltingjaine Vertigo is debilitating ! I hope you get relief soon!
@stephanj Ugh , joint pain! 😩It’s one of many reasons I want to lose weight and get in shape, but it’s kind of hard to do that when you are in so much pain. Hope you feel better soon!

@itladyee So nice of you to ask! It seems that the newest addition is a win. She has actively taken on extra days from the other ladies and has already been with mom 5 days (so 5 out of 8 days). Mom's mood is good regarding her. I have yet to meet her as I was in Maine the first 4 days she worked, and the 5th, DH had his colonoscopy so I was tied up with him. She won't be on the schedule before next week, but am looking forward to meeting her then.

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 309
Sept 18 -27, 202563 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW: 127.6
9/18 – 127.8 I will get myself together. Excuses include “after wedding” Monday. Tues spent 4 hours trying to help acclimate new private aid for mom, who then quit and snuck off the job two hours before her end time. Wed working on aftermath, and today, back to maine to clean everything there and close it down. I distract easily.
We are going out to eat tonight, but I know the restaurant and menu.
9/19 – 127.2 Just mildly better than past few days.
9/20 – 128.0 Now that was cruel. :P I finally did a great day. First since last weekend. I will say though that over the years I have seen that “day after pasta” day often shows an up. Yes, we had pasta last night, but I tracked it thoroughly.
9/21 – 128.6 another up without reason. Going to just let this play out. It will sort and stabilize soon and I’ll know where I am out. Looking to get back 126 or below before November.
9/22 – 127.4 I think this could be a realistic number for my behavior this week (1.6 lb gain from last weekend which would mean about 5600 calories over for the week). Yesterday was not awful, but I did not accurately track. I don’t have the groceries in the house to support better choices, and I think this is going to continue a few more days until I can get a reset.
9/23 – 128.8 Yup, it continues
9/24 – 128.0 So yesterday, I tracked, and also resisted the compelling urge to binge (was eyeing those chocolate chips!!)
9/25 – DNW rare day that I decided to not face the scale. It’s now past 5:30 PM though and today has been good. Will check the scale in the am.

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 309 (my 239th).
Goals for every round;
9/26 142.6 – (trend 142.6) 6.03 miles walked.

Tennis tournament starts today – two matches today and two matches tomorrow (in the mid 90s) so I will hydrate & have fun! Lots of 🥩 💦 & Electrolytes✨
Spent a good bit of time yesterday in prayer & reflection as well as this morning. A peaceful & present experience to start this day. Will 🤸🏼🏋️♀️ ⏱️ now to warm-up for first 🎾 match!
9/20 & 9/21 DNW. Great nutrition Friday but not so much yesterday. Two tennis matches Friday/one yesterday -all were grueling. My team missed the playoffs by one loss. We had a great time! I can certainly feel my age from a few years ago… Three tough matches in the heat took its toll. I was exhausted yesterday and ended up eating way more than I should have (PASTA-what?!?!!!). It was a decision based on exhaustion & not smart for me… Fell asleep super early last night - tossed and turned from being too full… I learned that, for me, overdoing it physically then rationalizing it by increased portions - has many more negative ramifications than simply not exercising (if that makes any sense). I’m still recovering today from the heat & pushing too hard and will jump back on board here tomorrow. Hydrating today! I apologize for not keeping up with our “feed” I will catch up by tomorrow. But oh @itladyee Princess Lola is darling! We had a Lola once… Lola was our golden retriever for 13 years and my love!! Enjoy!
