    My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018). I weigh weekly but also on the 1st and last day of each month for a full month’s account.

    CURRENT WEEK:

    11/01 – 183.0 ✅ (Trend Weight – 184.1) Below is my Trend Weight graph for the past 6 months. I did really well starting around my birthday (May 10th) through summer. Then in September and throughout Autumn I have really become stagnant and fizzled out. No big permanent gains, just kind of like a firecracker that turned out to be a dud. It’s time to pick up some steam again, some sparkle. With the holidays directly in front of us, it won’t be easy but I’m going to give it the old college try and do my best to navigate it. I won’t settle for just “not gaining” during the holidays. The losses need to pick back up and push their way through. I never know what tomorrow brings, but today I feel ready! New Month, Fresh Start!

    🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/03-182.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 183.9) There are hard days and easy days which I can’t always understand (or explain). Yesterday was an easy day. Not a lot of hunger. I worked for several hours outside raking, hauling and burning leaves so I did get some extra calorie burn in too. Tomorrow I travel for medical appointment so I’m glad I’m on good footing before the trip. There will be lots of sitting and a restaurant (or two). I will try to keep my head on my shoulders and stay away from desserts and extras.

    🦃🦃🦃🦃11/10-181.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 183.2) A little blip up today from yesterday which is a normal fluctuation or my number would have been as good as yesterday’s. Did my body know it was weigh-in day and get stubborn on me? Nonetheless, I’m down exactly one pound at each and every single weigh-in this month so I won’t complain, just question. It was a very hard week with two days of travel and restaurants, and one birthday celebration for my DD. I didn’t do very well on those particular challenging days but my comeback turned out okay (this time). Going forward, toward Thanksgiving, I am going to try very hard to keep myself level-headed and dedicated. THAT is certainly not a given. It’s something I must work on every day.

    I’m back again. MFP starting weight 2/2011: 160.2 lbs Since then I’ve come & gone, started, stopped. Weight bounced around from 140-168 lbs. Wanting to be consistent to lose down to about 98 lbs & be healthier & stronger. (64, F, 4’11” or less & small boned—athlete in past but that was long ago). I have: High blood pressure, Osteoporosis, hypothyroidism. Challenge Start Weight: 156.2 lbs

    🦃🦃🦃🦃11/17-178.8✅ (Trend Weight – 182.1) Woot Woot! I’ve made it into the new decade of the 170’s. Now for the dancing back & forth over the line stage. I envision the scene of Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed in “It’s a Wonderful Life” as George & Mary Bailey (before marriage) dancing to and from that line that opens to the pool. Legs dangling over the edge, poised to fall in, over and over. And they absolutely do. And I will too. Likely many times. However, I’ll try not to focus on the water but, like them, enjoy the dance. I’m so happy today I could scream! I’ve looked over my records for the past (many) years and traditionally I gain 2-4 pounds just in November alone. And then there is December…. However, I am going to focus on the fact that it’s mine to keep or mine to lose. I can decide.

    Hi everyone,

    Happy (almost) Weekend! I'm off work today so my weekend starts now! My Fitbit sleep score was 87 for last night! (7h 56m), which is great for me. (I had plenty of deep sleep and REM; so the quality was good.) I haven't had any alcoholic beverages at all since 10/30; so I think that's a huge part of my improved sleep. My blood pressure and heart rate have gone down as well, averaging 1-teens over low 70's with HR averaging low 60's and often just under that at rest.

    I am posting a little late this week, but here is my data from Wednesday: Original Start weight: 217.0 on 02/29/2008 (highest weight ever)

    November Start Weight: 155.8

    November Goal Weight: 149.0 or less (lose 6.8 lbs.)

    Ultimate Goal Weight: 132-138

    November 05: 155.8

    Hi everyone,

    Did all my Thanksgiving shopping on Friday and Saturday. I will be staying in today, (safe at home base)!

    I will be having Thanksgiving at the home of my son, Amer (42nd birthday yesterday!) and his wife, Laura. I will be bringing appetizers, sparkling cider, a candle and pumpkin pie. My son doesn't like turkey so we will be having Middle Eastern food on that day, but I bought a turkey breast for me ($8.00 for 4.47 lbs. at $2.79/lb.) so I can have roast turkey over that weekend. I also bought a bottle of "Fre" brand non-alcoholic Moscato wine and a bottle of diet ginger beer (also non-alcoholic). I'm thinking of trying this pumpkin cheesecake recipe:

    I might get some Light Cool Whip for a topping. Maybe put some chopped, roasted walnuts and sugar free Maple-flavored syrup (I like Cary's brand.)

    11/17-178.8✅ (Trend Weight – 182.1) Woot Woot! I’ve made it into the new decade of the 170’s. Now for the dancing back & forth over the line stage. I envision the scene of Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed in “It’s a Wonderful Life” as George & Mary Bailey (before marriage) dancing to and from that line that opens to the pool. Legs dangling over the edge, poised to fall in, over and over. And they absolutely do. And I will too. Likely many times. However, I’ll try not to focus on the water but, like them, enjoy the dance. I’m so happy today I could scream! I’ve looked over my records for the past (many) years and traditionally I gain 2-4 pounds just in November alone. And then there is December…. However, I am going to focus on the fact that it’s mine to keep or mine to lose. I can decide.

    🦃🦃🦃🦃 11/24- 177.6 ✅ (Trend Weight: 180.3) My magic 7!!!! So happy to see it today. I know it won’t last this week. I travel tomorrow and then there’s the birthday party and two Thanksgiving Feasts coming up, all later this week. But I’m so happy to see me starting a little further from the 180 border. There’s hope! I batch cooked two days ago, red beans & brown rice with simple veggies in order to change up my go-to protein and fiber sources for a few days. Last time I made this I gained weight every day until it was gone, so I ate smaller portions this time. It’s very high calorie and high carb and it’s not my favorite, but I’m proud that I’m at least trying to eat a few vegetables which makes it healthier than my usual fare. I will not be weighing on the 30th as it is the morning after my Thanksgiving Fest. I will wait 24 to 48 hours and return with a more realistic number and a true assessment of the damage.
