Newsfeed
Dear MFP Developers,
I suggest you reinstate and upgrade the individual newsfeed. For me, this was the main distinguishing feature of the platform from its rivals. And, calorie counting apps are becoming a crowded field!
In my opinion, the Community pages are not a replacement for the newsfeed, which created a self-selected community with both manual and automatic updates. There is no purpose in having "friends" at all if you don't have a "friends feed." Control over automatic posts and whether posts are public or private is very important.
For inspiration, I suggest looking at Strava, which is apparently about to go public at a $2.2B evaluation. What attracts people to Strava is exactly the "news feed" nature of the platform. You can share with your contacts or with the world your activities and posts. You can follow a professional athlete to see how they train. Everything is there except nutrition, which is arguably one of the most important parts of training.

Removing that really did eliminate most of what made MFP great. It's still a useful tracking app, but that's all it is.
