@NonnieDoiron congratulations on passing your 90 mark! Your skating story is so funny, I can't imagine trying to skate after I've had a few glasses of wine.

@WestCoastGirl_1 4 days under your belt - WOOHOO!

@Walela617 nice job with 2 AF days and coming up on 3!

@itladyee, I love the meme too. Almost everything fits me except the football. I've cheered for a few college bowl games when a local university was an underdog, yet won. I was a lifelong baseball fan, but I just can't support the outrageous salaries and celebrity worship anymore. And now, the biggest annoyance are the announcers and all the side hustles. Getting old and intolerant? Maybe. It could be that my depression and lack of concentration are to blame. Too anxious to sit still.

Anyway, November is off to a good start:

    AF 1

@globalhiker I'm rooting for you to get back on track…one year AF would be awesome (again)! You know, I've learned something from your experience. I've always thought that after a long streak that I could possibly have an A day and get back on track the next day. I believe your intentions were to drink on your birthday and then get back on track the next day. And I believed that was what would happen (you've been so strong!). But, one A day turned into more. If you couldn't do it, I know there's no way that I could do it! You need to get back on a roll. After Day 1 it gets easier. But everyone saw how difficult it was for me to get to Day 1. I know you can do it!

@NonnieDoiron Your skating story is so funny, but true. Drinking definitely adds calories and the bad food choices on top of that. I feel that I've gained weight mostly in the last couple of years. But I have a sidebar on my desktop that plays a slideshow of all the pictures on my HD. I realized that I've gradually been gaining weight for years. My intentions are to stay AF and I'm sure the weight I have gained will slowly come off. When I moved to this valley 19 years ago, I was wearing Levi 501's with a 30-inch waist (yes, growing up we wore men's Levi's…all the girls did).

@SparkSpringtime69 I hope you can meet your goals. If I can do it…you definitely can! I'm rooting for you!

@itladyee I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I wanted to watch the game yesterday. I didn't even know what time or channel it was on. But I'm glad the Dodger's won. I'm originally from that area and my dad and uncle used to take me to games.

@Walela617 I'm glad you found November 🙂 Congrats on 2 days (going on 3). Keep it up! You don't want to reset your app!

@nbruns83 I'm glad you're off to a good start. I hope you're able to reach your goals!

I forgot the time change was today. I meant to look at the calendar yesterday. But I forgot. So I was surprised this morning.

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

    Hello LA peeps:

Popping in with new goals and targets for November. And, love your meme @itladyee - it resonates with me today!
We had a lovely Halloween with adult kids and grand kids. After they left, and I turned off the porch light for the little tick or treaters I was up late watching some horror show with DH and having a few glasses of wine in a Halloween glass. Note to self to throw those out today as they are just a silly trigger that says let’s party. Last night was ‘my time’ to relax and start a new show (not horror). Then, the World Series was a super surprise for LA!
I too had similar goals @SparkSpringtime69. Ended up having two small Prosecco’s and one very small glass of white wine (leftover in garage fridge) last night. I do feel good today with the extra sleep and ready for a fresh start to a new week. Heading out to watch my talented grandson play baseball this am!

This weeks target is 3-4 AF days and then to carry that forward throughout the month. Also looking to try some lower abv% options again on planned days.

    A - 1 (low abv%)

    AF - 1

@Michieb125 Your goals seem reasonable. I don't think you'll have any trouble reaching them.

@NonnieDoiron Your skating story reminded me of something. For quite a while, I felt that my balance and coordination weren't very good. I wonder if it had anything to do with being drunk all the time 🤔 When you drink all day long and as much as I was drinking, you really don't feel drunk…but, technically, I was!

Hi all. I’m new here - just back to MFP after years away, but have been working on loosing and drinking less the last six months and having slow and steady success. (Sometimes frustratingly slow, but progress is progress.)

I find that cutting the alcohol really does make weight loss a lot more possible for me. I’ve been enjoying playing with mocktails or other alcohol-free drinks as a substitute - that really does help.

I’m and glad to have found this thread. I’m seven days AF in a row as of this AM, and am going to aim for 25 AF days in November. Accounting for Thanksgiving and compared to the past few years that would be very good for me!

Wishing the best to all here.

AF - 1 (seven day streak, goal 25)

    A - 0

Welcome @GGinCA and welcome back everyone else, even if you haven’t been here in a while!

I did great with LA this weekend. Only one wine on Friday, and only two drinks yesterday. Weight isn’t budging but because of other symptoms, I think perimenopause is kicking my butt these past 7 days. Mostly I just don’t have a lot of energy, and I realize it had nothing to do with whether or not a had a drink the night before. Hmmm.

At any rate, I’m happy with my October stats.
    12 AF yay!
    10 A
    7 LA.
This is a huge improvement from previous months!

Next challenge-we are going to Miami this weekend and I know there are a lot of restaurant , beach club and happy hour activities planned. If I can stick to no more than two drinks per day, I will consider it a huge win.

I will be part of this in general. Many years back i took a 2 year break and was going to AA and focussed on my health so on here as well ., when i started drinking again it was mostly occasional, covid years forward walking my dog I would stop at local brewery and meet other dog folk for a beer, by the time they went out of business that had become a 2to4 pint a day habit 7 days a week plus some cocktails at home. Day after Canadian thanksgiving i returned to targeting health thanks to bad reports from annual physical. I have had 3 beers in that interim. I think i will just go completely dry until Christmas Day when i will have a cocktail and wine . I already feel healthier the trick is changing the bad habits lots of helpful info here thanks
