1 Mile A Day Challenge (November)
Hey friends — I need a bit of accountability.
After months on bed rest and several surgeries including lymph nodes removed, my fitness has taken a big hit. I still deal with daily pain, swelling and hospital visits, but I want to start getting back to life one small step at a time.
So I’m committing to walk 1 mile every day through November (maybe into December). It might sound simple, but for me it’s a challenge: getting outside, rebuilding strength, and looking after my mental health.

Whether you want to walk with me to support a charity, need a nudge to get moving before Christmas, or just want to add steps to your day — join my Strava group here: https://strava.app.link/1jxAqnjzKXb.
Follow, share, cheer, or walk. Small daily steps — big difference. Thank you 🙏🏼

Congratulations! Go for it. Just one thought: do you have access to physiotherapy? They might help you to regain strength and rebuild muscles much better than you could do.

sorry you have been through all that. Wishing you improved health. I have found that steady state cardio really helps with not only physical health but mental health as well. That is why it is my exercise of choice! My favorite instructor is Leslie Sansone who leads fitness walking workouts inside your home. I prefer dvds so I have quite a collection. She has walks from 1 to 6.5 miles (that is on her mix and match walk blasters if you do all the walks). Some of her walks are straight walking with her standard kicks, knee lifts, hamstring curls and side steps and some have boosts which is either fast walking or jogging. She also has some walks that are different like one that has some standing Pilates and a quick 10 minute ish Pilates mat workout and some with squats/lunges/weights or bands. Anyways, you might want to check her out. Even when I don’t want to work out, I find I can always manage a Leslie walk! She has a very encouraging personality and it’s like walking with a friend. Anyways, I wanted to wish you the best of luck. I would join but I’m not consistent enough with accessing social type areas. Best wishes to you!💜

I am just now getting back on my feet from an injury. I am glad for physio, it helps. I, too, am a long time fan of Leslie Sansone. I am trying to get back with her on YouTube. 1 Mile Happy Walk is my go-to video. All the best! I'm walking along, too! 🙂
