Hi, I'm also on a gaining journey. There aren't many of us on MFP, but you will still find helpful info anyway. You can add me if you want. Cheers.

Since you want to add muscle, but also gain, you might get some good out of one of these threads:
This next is a thread about adding muscle at constant bodyweight, which I understand is NOT your specific goal. However, I think the thread contains a lot of useful information about the interaction of nutrition with your strength program, tradeoffs between bulking and recomposition, and that sort of thing. Many of the same concepts apply in your situation, you just want to be eating in a small calorie surplus instead of maintenance calories.
If you don't have a lifting program and don't have access to a well-credentialed, experienced trainer, this may help:
That thread's OP also contains a link - which you may have to look for in order to spot - to another thread that lists many lifting programs other MFP-ers have found helpful.
Best wishes for success with your goals!

Hi, Alex -
You'll get more and better answers here if you make your own post with a specific title about your question, rather than piggybacking on a post that has a rather different question. I'd suggest posting in the Food and Nutrition or Recipes section of the Community here.
Short answer: Anything you like eating that adds up to good overall nutrition, especially plenty of protein, and that also adds up to slightly lower calories than would keep you at steady weight. (Losing fat fast is only appropriate for people who are severely overweight, which you aren't; plus fast loss tends to interfere with muscle mass gain.)
You might actually get some solid info from the Recompostiion thread I linked above.
You can find bunches of calorie-efficient nutrient dense recipes in the MFP Blog, too, here:
https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/category/meal-planning-recipes/
I don't get compensated for posting this, but if you're not great at cooking, you might want to look for Coach John Noel on social media. He has a bunch of free videos with the theme "It's not cooking, it's just mixing stuff" where he makes simple meals with attention to calories and nutrition by mixing partly-prepared foods in easy ways.
Best wishes!
