I make cold spinach dip using a packet of Knorr's vegetable recipe mix. Been making it for years and it's definitely a crowd pleaser:

I also recently came across this 7-layer bean dip recipe and everyone I've made it for so far has loved it:

    Good luck!!

Is that the Texas Caviar Bean Dip? Or am I thinking of something else entirely? Great suggestions.

I've just started reading this blog; I like how she lays out the calorie content for "traditional" football party food. It may be a good way to incorporate the food people "expect" while gauging how much you can enjoy without derailing your hard work. Or, take the traditional ideas and use the excellent suggestions everyone has given to lighten them up.

Nothing wrong with a large bowl of healthy popcorn! Encourage them to use dips or sauces with the popcorn (even fat free dressings) it's great!

I found this on pinterest and it's pretty easy and really you can't go wrong with ranch, bacon and cheese. You could probably sub either fat free sour cream or yougurt (plain or greek) for an even lighter version:
    Cheddar Bacon Dip
    16 oz. light sour cream
    1 packet ranch dressing mix
3 oz. package of bacon bits
    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

This is a great dip, spicy, and goes well with pita or pretzel chips:
Place 16 ounces of Greek yogurt, a handful of cilantro, the juice of one lemon, and half of a 7-ounce can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce in a food processor. Pulse until smooth. Add sea salt to taste.

Found this as well. I don't like the texture of ground chicken but ground turkey could easily be substituted:

    1 pound lean ground chicken
    1 egg
    1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
    1 carrot
    1 stalk celery
    2 green onions
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 ounce crumbled blue cheese
1/2 cup Frank's Hot Sauce (or your favorite), divided
    1 tablespoon butter

    Preheat the oven to 350F.
Line a cookie sheet with foil and coat with nonstick spray.
Cut the celery, carrot and green onion into large chunks and throw into a food processor.
Pulse to chop into small bits.
In a large bowl, combine the vegetable mixture, chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, 1/2 the hot sauce and the blue cheese.
Gently fold together to combine, but don't overmix.
Form the mixture into small meatballs - you should get about 28 small meatballs.
Place the meatballs on the cookie sheet.
    Bake for 20 minutes.
While the meatballs are baking, put the rest of the hot sauce and the butter into a microwave safe dish.
Microwave about 30 seconds, until butter melts.
    Stir well to combine.
Remove the meatballs from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.
Place the meatballs onto a serving dish and drizzle with butter/hot sauce mixture.
