Ladies: Body Fat

I asked this in the losing weight forum and got no love. So here goes: are any ladies 5'8 with 20 percent body fat? I'm curious how much you weigh? I'm sure the amount of muscles, etc play into it but since this is my goal I'm just wondering what the range would be

My wife (in the pic) is 5' 6" and about 20%, weighing 118lbs. Since you add about 5lbs/in, that would be about 128lb for 5'8".0
-
im 5'7", 126# and about 19-20% bf...0
-
I'm 5'8.5", around 20% body fat, and 160 pounds.0
-
I'm 5'8", weigh 150lb and my fitbit scale says I'm 31.8% body fat :grumble:0
-
How do you measure body fat?0
-
It is very hard to measure accurately - with 'eggs', water displacement, or calipers. Or:

How do you measure body fat?
I have them measure it @ my gym with calipers.0 -
There's an online calculator for that. Here's the link:
http://www.fitwatch.com/qkcalc/body-fat-weight-calculator.php0 -
5'10, 140, 12% bf, measured at gym. Well just under 12% now with a small gain in lean mass the last 8 weeks.0

There's an online calculator for that. Here's the link:
http://www.fitwatch.com/qkcalc/body-fat-weight-calculator.php
I took my measurement this morning using calipers and the calculation came out at 21.95% (Durnin/Womersley Caliper Method).
Your Body Fat Weight is: 28.1 lbs
Your Muscle Mass is: 99.9 lbs
Your Body Fat Percentage is: 21.95%
I just tried the calculator above and it came out as follows:
Your Body Fat Weight is: 32.88 lbs
Your Muscle Mass is: 95.12 lbs
Your Body Fat Percentage is: 25.68%
I prefer the caliper reading0 -
Yes, calipers are way more accurate than any online calculator (or immersion, but that's costly and hard to find!).
I am 5'9", maybe 15% BF and my weight is 138-140.
10 years ago, as a 30-year-old fitness model, I stayed around 10% BF and was usually 142.0 -
Thanks for posting this thread. It's nice to see the range of women that fit into the body fat range I'm hoping to achieve. My body fat hand monitor says I'm 26% body fat and I'm 5'7 150lbs but I need to get it checked via calipers or a water test for a more accurate check.0
-
I'm 5'6" 133 19% bf0
-
I had a DEXA scan last week which measured me at 29.4% BF. I am 5'8.5 and weigh 157. If I keep my lean mass at 112lbs (as it is now), at 146lbs I would be 23% - that is my goal. So, you could be down around 140 at 20% BF. (correction - I would be at 140 lbs, at 20% BF )0
-
I am 5'7" and 148 pounds. I am 19-20% body fat, a size 3 jeans and a size medium shirt. I was 155 pounds 2 years ago and wore a size 11-13 jeans. :-) Yay weights.0
-
I think that your weight should also depend on your frame. For example, I have been most of my adult life between 53-55 kgs and last year I had put a few on and I had gotten to 58 kgs but the weight looked very bad on my small frame. Also, if you exercise and you gain muscle, it's not about weight anymore so much.
Now:
5'7''
117 pounds
Here's what http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html says about me
Body Mass Index: 18.3 kg/m2
Waist-to-Height ratio: 0.42
Percent Body Fat: 22.0%
Lean Body Mass: 41.3 kg
Apparently I am underweight, but I still have some undesirable fat tissue I am trying to get rid of, mainly on the back of my legs. I am aiming to get to 20% BF, maybe 19%. That means I should drop 5 more pounds, but I would prefer to gain some muscle weight instead of just getting thinner.0 -
I'm 5'7" and weigh 144 lbs. Looking at these posts, I feel like a heifer. I'm a solid size 8 and trying to lose about five to seven lbs. to get down below 140 lbs. where I'm more comfortable as far as fitting in my clothes. I'm also over 50, which makes a difference. I'm pretty sure I won't ever see the 127 lbs. I weighed in my 20's and 30's ever again.0
-
I'm 5'8.75", 163 but probably 25% body fat.
0 -
I'm 5'7" and right around 20%. I weigh about 124 right now. My muscle development is pretty good and I look lean.0
-
I'm 5'9" with 26% body fat. Weight is 160 right now.
Goal is 17%.0 -
5'9" with about 18% (visually, calipers say I am way lower) and I weigh 155.
0 -
I'm 5'7.5", 132 lbs, and my BF% is about 23%. :-( That one chick who posted above, who weighs 160 and has 20% body fat, just blows my mind. But she's totally ripped so it makes sense. I would have to get down to 120 (or less) to be at 20%. I guess it's because my bones are smallish and I have basically no muscle.
But for myself, I'm not interested in being muscular or having a women's weightlifting magazine physique... my aesthetic ideal is something like Scarlett Johannson in her prime. Trim but feminine with some thin padding. Guys seem to like that look a lot. I figured that's around 22% BF and is a sustainable shape/weight for me.

Body composition plays into it a lot! I'm 5'5, 133 lbs and 19.5% BF, size 5/6. The calculator I use says I have another 11 pounds to go before 15%. My best friend is 5'8, 148 lbs and around 28% BF, size 9/10. I lift weights regularly, she doesn't, so you should specify if you're lifting or not. That's two totally different looking body types, right?0 -
I'm 5'6" and 21.5% (according the Covert Bailey calculator at fat2fitradio.com)
Editing to add the calculation from scientific psychic. I like that one, because you can add more metrics (plus it has me at a lower BF% haha!)
Body Mass Index: 19.0 kg/m2
Waist-to-Height ratio: 0.39
Percent Body Fat: 20.3%
Lean Body Mass: 93.6 lb
Your weight is in the normal range.
You do not need to lose weight.
Minimum caloric requirements: 1855 Calories per day
Your diet should contain at least 76 grams of protein per day.
I am currently doing 1230 and adding back my exercise calories, because I'd like to go for 15%.0 -
I use calipers with the same online calculator, same areas each time. I k ow it's not super accurate, but if I keep as much same as possible each time, I can see an overall trend.
I went from 27% -23.5%. May not be the precise percentage, but it is gong DOWN
5'6" and 134#
My goal is 21-22%0 -
Thanks for posting this thread. It's nice to see the range of women that fit into the body fat range I'm hoping to achieve. My body fat hand monitor says I'm 26% body fat and I'm 5'7 150lbs but I need to get it checked via calipers or a water test for a more accurate check.
Those hand monitors are not accurate. The trainer at the gym had me do it and was confused when it showed 5.6%. I'm actually about 11%.0 -
I am 5'6" and weigh around 187. My body fat, done with calipers by a trainer/nutritionist/bodybuilder is 21.5% I lift weights and have a very "solid" build. Trying to get to about 18%. I honestly believe that it depends on your body composition. People always guess me weighing less than I do.0

Oh, I also tried this and the results are quite different from the simpler one I did:
Your body fat percentage is 17.5%
This is drastically different from 22% That I got from the other website. Oh well...0 -
I'm 5'9 and at 20% body fat I weigh around 140. I know this from bodpod tests, not just calipers.
I have a large frame, Nordic blood what what.0 -
Yeah, I had callipers done a while back (while at 160) and she told me 19% and there's no way. I might have been 23% at that time but NOT under 20%.0
