Does anyone actually eat the 1200 calorie limit?

If I'm trying to lose weight, 1200 calories a day is the way to do it, and it's still very very slow. I maintain on 1500/day.0

I usually eat between 1500 to 1700 and exercise about 400 worth. It became abundantly clear that in order to not want to eat my own arm off I needed to eat protein packed foods like greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, turkey etc. Eating baked chips or some other snack like that might be the same number of calories, but then you're hungry 15 mins later! I also designated specific times during my work day when i eat and i've gotten used to eating at these times, so it helps keep me on track0

Stephylove, if you just started this a few days ago, I recommend that you first find out what your actual maintenance of calories is so you can more accurately select the proper deficit. Weigh and log all your food for a month or two to find out the maximum amount of calories you can eat until your body weight remains relatively stable. This will be your TDEE and you can then cut calories by 300 to 400 to start. Once you have only 15 or so lbs left to lose, you can up your calories so that the deficit is 250 - which will make the transition to maintenance easier.0
