This is a good beginning challenge, when I started running back in 1998, I was slow as a 17 year old. Now at 34 almost 35 years old, I can run 3 miles in 17:50 and run 10 miles a day, 5 times a week now that I am in the military, but mixing it up betwen sprints and 70% full speed or slow 15 mile runs. The key:

-Stretch for 20 minutes or more before to get the lactic acid out of your muscles and increase your fexibility and range of motion
-Stretch upper and lower body especially legs
-Do planks to stregnthen your core, a strong core will stregnthen the rest of your body
    -Drink water, hydrate
-Stretch, did I mention stretch, you wont be sore afterwards
-Results will not come overnight, it takes lots of commitment to hitting the pavement

To everyone, good luck on this challenge, keep faith and keep trying!!
