If I were to be eaten as Halloween candy what would my macros be? 5'2, 100 pounds, 19% body weight. Any cannibals out there? I understand if I get no replies. :)

    Roughly...

    12 lbs fat (5500 grams)
    20 lbs protein (9000 grams)
3 lbs carbs (1500 grams) (that one is a little tough, it would depend on how you were....ummm..."prepared"...)

And that's actually a pretty neat question, IMO...

what's the protein per 100grams of human flesh? Is it akin to pork?

and OP - I'd need to know a little bit more about your lifestyle before I add you to my food database - what's your diet like? Are you on any medication? Do you have any history of certain diseases such as CJD?

Dear OP, your macros are, roughly, 60% water, 18% fat and 18% protein. The rest is made up of metal compounds and glycogen. According to those white-coated brainiacs at: http://www.rowett.ac.uk/edu_web/sec_pup/body_comp.pdf

MEANING that after 24 hours in a casserole (with a load of veg added) at 140 degrees you'll be tender, delicious and ready to serve with mash and mint sauce.

I would just say delicious and I would not log it - just consider it a cheat day! :)

I guess parts of you would be discarded too, so it's probably necessary to work out the calories for the edible portion...

which parts do you think are edible...?????

This would be the mystical "negative Calories" item.

The exercise that comes after/during/however-you-want-to-put-it eating you would certainly burn more Cals than any I consume from the actual eating.

Can't believe no one has said the obvious here except one or two
  • You people are not taking into consideration her skeletal weight of about 20lbs, leaving about 80lbs of flesh and organs. Sheesh.

    I agree.

Probably the most boring/pointless/retarded question ever.

Yet you were compelled to write this, instead of simply backing out of the thread.

    Thanks for the input.

To the actual question....hmmmm......... My guestimate would be 20-25 lbs of edible flesh, I mean unless you want to made liver and onions, or tripe, or brains (braaaaaiiiinzzzzzz).

So, we'll take the skin off, to reduce calories and simply eat the meat.

20lbs at 1200 cals per pound is 24,000 cals.

Protien at 25g per 4oz, so 100g per pound, gives around 2000g.

No carbs.....unless we rub some honey or bbq sauce on for flavor.

You are pretty lean, but it is meat so I am guessing an average of 15g of fat per 4oz, or 60g per pound, so 1200g of fat.

Anything else you let me know.

Are we just eating the meat portion or are we eating organs and all (excluding bones of course)?

the macros for different parts of you would be different. Each organ will have its own macros, and even different muscles will have different macros, depending on how much fat is stored in and around them... this varies from muscle to muscle.

Vsauce did a video on this, actually.

I'll post back when I find it.

    ETA: found it.

A 200-lb human in outer space would eventually become about 120 pounds of freeze-dried jerky, totaling 115,000 calories.

So if we dehydrated and freeze-dried your body, you'd be worth roughly 57,500 calories.

    Yum.

    Interesting, thanks Jayne!

I must be the only geek here who thinks that's the coolest question I've heard all week. The answer eludes me right now but I can see myself not getting much sleep trying to work it out!!!!
I'm geeky enough to think it's cool too, but I'm nowhere near geeky enough to even attempt a rough guess at the answer, no matter how much sleep I miss or get.

I don't think you would qualify as candy (no offense). Thanksgiving dinner maybe.

But it's generous of you to consider donating to the food chain.
