My problem is since I have been drinking more water, I am always thirsty:drinker: I know that I am pre-diabetic but I am more thirsty since I started cuttin out the diet cokes (2 a day now verses 5-6) and the sport drinks (the sodium was killing me in more than one way)

    Any thoughts???

Although as far as the amount goes -
1st - Is the "recommended" eight CUPS or eight ???oz GLASSES? - Could make a big difference.

At first I asked this question too then when I started measuring everything I eat and drink (other than water) I put on my dunce cap. 1 cup = 8 oz. So it would make no difference as they are the exact same measurement.

I've read drinking TOO much water can flush out your electrolytes or something and end up killing you....that happened to a biker...=o/
I think water helps me personally to fill up faster so I'm not over eating!

Ok, want my opinion? I have found that drinking at least 64oz of water a day might keep me in the potty alot, but I feel it "cleanses" me as well. Gets rid of the toxins. Now, this is coming from a girl (me) who has only drank diet coke every single day for 20 years! Don't mean to sound nasty, but my urine even smells normal and looks cleaner...make sense....................and while we are on the subject about bodily excretions...... Excreting #2 used to be a once every other day project (and trust me, it was a project). Now, it's at least 2-3 x per day. So....eating healthy has kept my grocery bill down for the most part......but toilet paper is now my most purchased item now (used to be milk).

My question is when they say 8 glasses how many ounces are they saying for each - 8, 12, 16, 20? A normal child's glass is 7-9 oz, but adult glassses are usually 12-20 oz.

My understanding is it is "8" glasses of "8" ounces of water. Therefore a total of 64oz. (might wanna drink all that water before 6:00 p.m (if you want proper rest at night)
