omelletes every day bad for you? going over the daily fat

they're good but i'm already going over the daily fat requirement. should i cut the ham and cheese, and stick with bacon and eggs sometimes?

I guess that would depend on what your fat macros are. Also, ham is going to be a lot leaner than bacon. How much cheese are you using...cheese is pretty fat dense....maybe just use less cheese if you're using a lot.
where weight loss is concerned, it's all about calories...dietary fat doesn't make you fat...too many calories of any macro combination will make you fat. Your macro ratios are largely tied in with specific health and fitness goals beyond just weight loss.0 -

Don't worry about it. The default fat goal here is pretty low. I lost almost all my weight getting at least 40% of my daily calories from fat. I pay fairly close attention to protein and carbs, but I usually ignore fat altogether.0

As long as your calories are where they should be, I don't think it's a problem. Like another poster mentioned, it's overall calorie consumption that matters unless you are working towards a specific goal. If that is the case, I would leave the ham and cut back on the cheese. You can also use skim milk in you omelette and that will help with fat content.0

Why would someone do this and toss the part with the majority of the nutrition? Yes, whites have protein but the most dense part of the egg nutritionally is the yolk.
To the OP, eat the omelets if you want as long as you are within your calorie and macro targets.0 -
I've eaten eggs everyday for a week. I try to mix it up though, omelets, scrambled, over easy, egg sandwich, etc. I don't fret about the fats or cholesterol.0

I have my fat % set at 30 and 30 on protein. I'm usually looking for creative ways to get the good fats. For breakfast alone I might have an omelet with 2 eggs and 9 tbsp. of egg whites, cheese and turkey bacon with avocado on the side.0

If you love protein and fat you might want to try a low carb way of eating like Primal or Paleo. This website has a ton of great info. Marksdailyapple.com
Also there are some good forums here at MFP for Primal/Paleo/Low carb. You would customize your macros. The default ones on this site leave me hungry and unsatisfied. It is a lot easier to stick to calorie goals when you are eating yummy fat, protein and veggies.0 -

Real eggs should be non-negotiable too.
No, as long as you have enough carbs to replenish glycogen, enough protein to maintain/build muscle, who cares how much fat you get? About 40% of my calories come from fat and my blood work is amazing, I lost all of the weight I wanted, I am building muscle, and I feel good.

You could switch to low fat cheese, in omelets really you can't tell the difference much. Or just use two eggs and add veggies or something.0

I eat 2-3 eggs, a slice of ham, and either a slice of cheese or 1/4 cup shredded cheese just about every morning. My fat macro is set at 35%. I eat this during both my weight gain cycles (3,000+ cals.) as well as my weight loss cycles (2,000-2,250 cals.) but I add more oatmeal when bulking.0

Whilst I love ham n cheese omelettes, I have found that there are lots of other options..buy some stir fry veggies put them in the pan for a couple of minutes then throw your omelette mix over them.
You can find lots of pre packed stir fry in the supermarket, sweet n crunchy/chinese/mushroom0 -

i toss the yolks to stay within my macro and calorie target, i can't eat an omlette with 5 whole eggs a day or i'll blow up like a balloon, but i can eat 1 whole egg a day , and stretch it out with 4 extra egg whites and get a filling omlette out of it.0 -
If I didn't need a crow bar to get out of bed and wasn't bolting out the door with muesli bars in tow, I'd be all over a good omelette. I just can't be arsed to get up earlier to cook it.0

Nothing wrong with going over on fats. I do it everyday and I also eat a cheese omelette everyday for breakfast. Fat doesn't make you fat.0
