Mary, it is great to have you back!!

Nineinchgirl, you are welcome, send me your starting and current weight on Friday and I will get you on the chart. You don't have to be on the chart to join the group. It just makes it more interesting.

Had a great day taking my kids to the aquarium and out to lunch. We had a great time. Now if only I could figure out dinner with out getting sick!!

    Have a great day!

Good thing that I exercised - dinner turned out to be fried chicken, mac and cheese, baked beans and cake. Luckily, I watched my portions, and had enough exercise calories to cover it!

Today was my daughter's first day of 2nd grade! I can't believe I have a second grader! She was nervous and excited to go. I am so glad that I took the time to walk her around the school several times since it is a new school for us. We even were able to meet her teacher last week so it was great to actually know who to follow. It sure was chaos out there with people not knowing whose class they were in! I walked her to school and I think tomorrow we will ride bikes. Walking sure makes me feel better--I guess I shouldo it every day!!

I purchased a bento lunchbox for her to take lunches in. I am thinking it is going to be the best thing ever! She picked her lunch today and it was a turkey sandwich, grapes, cauliflower with ranch dressing and some green olives. So much better than school lunch! It even had a water bottle. I think it will be well worth it! Now I just need to plan my meals in advance so that I can eat just as well! If you want to see what the lunchbox is like check out www.laptoplunches.com they have great meal ideas and showcase their lunchbox too--I bought ours off of amazon.

Have a great day everyone! Happy Healthy eating!

Debnu and Randi- Wish you all a smooth start of the school year for your kids. Such an exciting time and I bet your kids love to be back into a routine.

Randi- Ditto what Deb said. Usually when I cheat one day, the next day when I get back on track, I loose more weight b/c somehow that resets your body. So, keep on doing what you're doing. You're doing great!

Deb, the lunch box sounds very cool and better than school lunches. I'm going to check out the link you sent.

Mary- so glad to hear from you and your new job sounds very cool.

Rach- We can do this, and we are better off today then where we were yesterday.

nineinch- Welcome to the group, feel free to tell us about yourself and how your workout is going.

Well, since my little had the fever all weekend, I didn't make it to the running group's trial run. But, they have other trial runs, so I will checkout their calendar.

Well, I have been sleep deprived all, and I am working on going to sleep at a set time so I can get up early to workout. As well as workout during lunch. I am one of those people that can't function unless I have atleast 8 hours of sleep. When I get less, I feel totally out of it. So what happens is that I get home and start watching some tv....and the shows just pull me in and I go to bed at 12:00am. My semester has also started again, but I think I will be fine, b/c I do the class online, and this semester I'm only doing 1 class which is a light load. My baby had fever last weekend for 3 days, and that threw me off. She's back to normal now. Every weekend is like my hubby and I have all these things to do like errands, shopping etc. so I'm now getting used to the fact that my schedule is like every working woman....so I have to take advantage of the weekends. I'm doing pretty good at my new job and feel really blessed. Just need a little organization and to get enough sleep.

We are going to a church camp for 1 day on saturday, all day, and Sunday I am signed up for a race for 4M. I'm pretty excited and working on getting my mojo back. Love you all, and please take care.

The lunch box was $40 but I am pretty sure it is worth it. We'll see how lunch went today!

Mayra good luck with your race, you are so awesome. It is difficult to get back into routine, but I know you can do it. I am working on the routine thing today, it is amazing how just one day of routine makes things different.

It has been wierd to have my daughter gone to school all day, but it has been good. I am so tired, and haven't done much! I will blame it on the baby.

Just a quick hi - got home late from band rehearsal and need to get things done before bed. See you later!

My daughter is silly--she said she didn't have enough food yesterday, so I open up her box and half of her sandwich and a few vegies are left. So I said if you were still hungry why didn't you finish your sandwich? She said she wanted to get out to play! So basically she wanted to play more than eat! I just laughed at her...

I am headed off to my first OB appointment today! Hopefully all goes well, although as of this morning I have gained 20 lbs since I saw her last! I am a little discouraged because I hadn't thought it was that bad!

I am exercising more so hopefully I will start to even out everything better...soon...

    Happy Friday my Beautiful Blues!!

    August weigh-ins

    8/1- 183.5
    8/6- 182.5
    8/13- 180.4
    8/20- 178.8
    8/27- 177.4

Not too bad! That's just over 6 lbs for the month!! I now "hope" to be out of the 17Xs by the end of September.

BTW- "Hopes" are continually changing..."Goals" are set in stone (see my signature) and will not change.

Randi you are doing wonderful!! Keep up the great work!

I only received one other weigh in on Friday...Are we losing motivation? I don't know if the chart is helping at this point, as we really are quiet on the boards too. What do you think we should do?

Sorry. I've been a little busy and not wanting to get up early in the mornings during the weekdays lately (making me run late for work). Weigh ins are helping, I just need to get better so that I can feel a lot better and be able to wake up easier.

So, internet didn't get installed on Saturday like it was supposed to. Switching companies and waiting until the 5th now.

I'm ready to kick my butt in gear. I think I'm going to start the C25K again.

Debnu- Oops, I totally forgot about the weigh in- just had a crazy week with camping. My weight is the same. I'm still motivated to do this, it's just that with the end of summer, I have had some errands and activities to do. I'm all ready for this now, and I hope we can all get that motivation back so we can kill it, for these last 4 months we have to go for the end of the year.

Four more months guys, and we can accomplish anything!!!!!!! Let's atleast post 1x a day to keep the motivation going and to show each other what we are up to that day, even just to say hi!

I have been logging foods and had a great time this weekend while camping for 1 day on saturday. Then sunday it was chores day and cleaned, ironed for 3 hours, and well, now everything is taken care of. I ordered an IO DVR from my cablevision company which will allow me to record the tv shows I do not want to miss, and that way I can go to bed early like I need to. It should be arriving in 2 days and it's only an extra $10 a month. How awesome! I'm doing great, and just working to get my schedule back on track and get more sleep so I can get these workouts in.

All of these days I have walked everywhere.

I will be catching up on posts, and wish you all a great day!

Mayra, I love my DVR! You won't regret the extra $10 a month. It is money well spent. I rarely stay up to watch anything anymore--I just record all my favorites and watch them when I want to. (with no commercials! )

I am open to welcoming new members again, perhaps starting at Week one would make a difference too!

The other thing I have been thinking of is putting out the chart monthly--but still reporting weekly in the boards. How would that feel to everyone? I have a hard time starting a new thread when we have barely used the current one. Give me your two cents!:flowerforyou:

I am totally open to whatever works best for you Deb, I don't think we need a new thread each week... we just need to keep an eye open to the number of posts and when they get close to 500 then we can start a new thread. Once a month charts would probably be a good idea, then we will see bisser losses each time we have the chart updated!!

Sounds good to me. And maybe we should send messages to those that we haven't heard from in a while, inviting them back. I am up because I couldn't sleep (arthritis pain). However, I took some ibuprofen, and need to go see if I can doze for another hour. Good night!

Mary I hope you got some good sleep after your ibuprofen. Perhaps messaging some who we have not heard from in a while would be great too!

Randi--That is a good idea to just make sure we don't pass 500... I think once a month getting a new board will probably really work, especially if we can celebrate the biggest loser of the month! (definitely not me... )

    Any other thoughts?

After my short sleep last night, I am really tired and trying to do laundry so that I can get to bed, so no time to post. I did want to pop in and tell you that I am reading the posts and thinking about you though! Here's hoping tonight is a better night for me, and a great night for all of you!

    Hey All,
Sorry I've been quiet 2 weeks or so. It's been blistering hot up here. I went camping last weekend, and well, it was a bunch of guys and I was bad. Lots of beer, some water, some other alcohols. Of course, some bad food. I brought fruits and sweet potatoe, but lots of other snacks there. I tell yah I felt it on monday and the following days. I am now going to go back to the no alcohol for a few months.

Of course my scale creeped up somewhat, but I don't always buy the.. yah it's water weight, but on the other side of the coin, can we gain so much in a week? (5-6lbs).
My shoulder has started to feel better. My back not so much, and i've narrowed it down to having a bad mattress, that we bought not too long ago.
Hard to get back into exercising, when I can't tie my shoelaces some mornings. It gets better during the day though.

    Cheers,

Holiday weekend coming up... I must remind myself to be aware of what and when I am eating.

Planning to take lots of fruits and veggies along with water, water, water. I tend to always have something to drink in my hand on these weekends but it's usually soda or beer, gonna be water this year.

Family Biggest Loser challenge ends on Friday. We started on Christmas (I weighed 220) the plan was; 2 weigh-ins, one on Friday of Memorial Day weekend and the other on Friday of Labor day weekend. I did crappy from Christmas to Memorial day, I lost a total of 11 lbs (209). My brother-in-law won the first phase (which by the way is $25 from each person to the winner, 7 contestants total= $150.00 to the winner of each phase). Looking forward to tomorrow... pretty sure I will take this phase, I am down a total of 32 lbs (15%) since Memorial day (14 weeks). YAHOOOOOO! Sure will be fun to have a $$$ reward to go with the reward of pride, accomplishment and feeling good about myself!!!

    Good morning!

Sorry I've been MIA, I've just been really busy with school starting up, as well as the normal weekend craziness of family reunions & chasing my kids & husband! I've was also struggling with late night eating & was undoing all the exercise that I was doing during the day. I'm happy to say that I've tightened my eating up, started logging in everything & have lost a few pounds! I weighed in at 156.8 this morning, still a way to go to get back down to my goal weight, but I know that I'll get there.

Congratulations Randi on the BL contest! How awesome for you!!

Mary , enjoy Iowa & the wedding!

Peter, way to get back to it! It's hard when we get side railed, but it's good that you can take responsibility & make the changes!

Deb, I hope that you're doing well!

Have a great weekend everyone & keep you eyes on the prize!

    Hey Everyone,

I am going to be MIA for the next little bit. I am going on a camping trip this weekend with friends and then school starts up next week. Let's hope that I can make it through this weekend by doing a lot of swimming and let's hope that it doesn't rain.

    Hey all,

I'm still here, and have been walking each day. My school class started and I'm doing well with a light load of 1 class. My io DVR just arrived and I'm so excited to be recording all my favorite shows- and now I can go to bed early and not miss my shows. This weekend I'm preparing myself to get back on track and I have major goals for my weight for this christmas. I want to lose more weight by christmas and am looking forward to it.

    Take care all!

You will LOVE having a dvr!! They are so great! However, you'll quickly learn how hard it is watching live tv with all the commercial breaks! Enjoy!!
  • thumper44
    thumper44 Posts: 1,464 Member
I have to give my 2 cents and 1 word about the DVR. - AWESOME.
We fast forward through commercials, and watch a 2 hour show in less than 1 hour sometimes.
AGT (America got talent) - All the blah blah talking with judges, the 15 min intros. Fast forward.

Being able to record two shows and watch another one is another plus.

If we're home, we don't watch live tv now. We'll let it record, either watch something else, or go outside. Let it record ahead 20-30 mins, and then come back and start watching it, fast forwarding through commercials.

Is it me, but when we were growing up, I thought maybe there were 2 or 3 commercials ina commercial break. Now sometimes there seems to be up to 10 commercials. Incredible.

OF course, one of the best benefits. (sports, or some movie). Did you see that!!!!:noway:
Oh, let me rewind and show you again:laugh:
