Does it make any differance at all if you eat before or after working out?

For weight loss, nope. Just eat when you want.

OH I better not eat whenever I want...LOL but I understand what you are saying. You did clarify for weight loss. If I was attempting to gain weight or build muscle mass, would the answer be differant?...just curious.

yes...no...maybe. I have seen many different views and several scientific article and none of them is conclusive. They all say your muscles absorb the most glucose and protein right after exercise about a 20 minute window and that antioxidants within this window are not a good idea if you are trying to bulk up. Before or after is another story. Some eat before so the nutrients are digested and in their system ready to be absorbed and some afterwards (easily digested foods) within the window.

I'd say always try to have some healthy protein after a workout.

Before is up to you. I have to eat 60-90 minutes before a workout, and I'm usually hungry after so I do both :) I know some people can work out on empty stomachs. It's more findng what works for your body.

I tend to eat before I work out by about an hour. I do not want to spend my entire workout thinking about food...lol

    How about both?

I guess it depends what your workouts include and what your goals are. If you just like to burn calories at the gym, then eat whenever works for you. If you are strength training, you might want to eat a little something beforehand and definitely more sometime afterward. On lifting days, I like to save most of my calories until after I work out.

Really, eat whenever you want. If we're just talking about weight loss, it makes no difference.
