Hey guys! Newbie here :blushing: I was just wondering what are the best foods you can have after a pretty intense workout. I would also love to know what you eat after a workout. I'm extremely curious to know.

Protein Shake and then lunch.
This! My protein shake doesn't have the best taste but I just slam it so it's OK. Then, lunch with some protein, carbs and fat.0 -
shake or usually low fat fish (like cod or mahi mahi) if I get home in time (and it's defrosted).0
-
Usually breakfast! Eggs, toast, & fruit on weight days, oatmeal with yorgurt, walnuts, fruit, honey & cinnamon on run days, black coffee every single day!
If I have a gap between the workout and breakfast, a glass of chocolate milk fills in until meal time.0 -

Woah.. Am I wrong to asume you workout on an empty stomach? My sister does it so I gave it a go and I honestly couldn't do it That crazy woman can even lift weights like a beast without breakfast.0 -
Protein and a fast digesting carb
I hope you don't mind me asking but why a fast digesting carb? Not being one of those MFP carb psychos I just have a ton of questions and that's why I ask0 -
Usually a protein bar, or lunch. Or nothing. Depends what time it is and if I'm hungry or not.0

If you don't eat anything, do you think it's affected your weightloss success?0 -

Protein shake and a banana
^ This, but I add the banana into a the shake and make it a smoothie, maybe add peanut butter0 -
I have dinner. Something with protein and some carbs is ideal.0

Last night I ate 230g of dry fried mushrooms in chilli and garlic, 350g of maris piper mashed with semiskimmed milk, 95g of carrot, 3 asda cumberland reduced fat sausages and very thick bisto gravy. It came to about 630 calories. It was a good tea. If I'd wanted more protien I would have had another sausage or had chicken instead0

A few pieces of fudge during my first few stretches. After stretching, depends on my calories and what I fancy. Although I've pre-logged a couple of boiled eggs today I might have a peanut butter and cottage cheese sandwich instead (or as well as).0

I workout in the late afternoon/early evening.
My post workout is usually a protein shake within 30 minutes of workout completion:
0.75-1 cup 1% milk or Silk Chocolate Soy Milk
1-2 scoops of whey protein
~4g creatine monohydrate
+ some carb source such as a banana. I follow this up with dinner about 1-1.5 hours later.0 -
I'm bulking, so a dozen donuts.0
