Share them.

Well, unless you're Canadian because apparently you guys aren't thankful for anything.

This isn't weird, but annoying for me. I used to be a hairdresser, and every big holiday someone in my family wants a haircut. So I start drinking really early so they'll change their minds!

My dad and I play video games after dinner. Super Nintendo games. We're nerds.

I have a thanksgiving day ritual that I need to share. I call it "the terminator". First I crouch down in the shower in the classic "naked terminator traveling through time" pose. With my eyes closed I crouch there for a minute, visualizing either Arnold or the guy from the second movie (not the chick in the third one because that one sucked) and I start to hum the terminator theme. Then I slowly rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me to proceed through my day as an emotionless, cyborg badass. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It ruins the fantasy.

My family's Thanksgiving day tradition is to not get together. The first year this started was when I was newly seperated from my husband and had no where to go for the holiday (and was struggling with severe depression). I went to the gym. My parents decided to go to the Casino buffet, and that's what they've been doing every year since. Weird.

Now I spend Thanksgiving with my bf's lovely family :).

We all go to my parents. Eat, drink and play "left, right, center." greatest, multi-age, group game ever. We have even come up
with our own sayings about things that happen during the came. We love it!

    Who wins?
Depends on the game. Usually me. But he's a worthy competitor.

I have no tradition... which is my weird. I just don't get into holidays much. Unless of course someone offers to feed me, so basically I just eat other people's food.

I am thinking about starting a movie tradition with my kid though (for years he's with me since I'm divorced). This year we will see Frozen on it's release date. If next year is good we'll see that. I am not about the hours of cooking and crazy. It just makes me want to drink a lot and hid in a corner. (The invite above is a small group).

Not so much a "tradition", but definitely weird...

When I was 16, my grandmother was murdered on Thanksgiving

When I was 21, one of my close friends committed suicide on Thanksgiving

A few years ago, my neighbor was found dead in her home on Thanksgiving (apparent stroke and/or seizure related death)

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and my mother-in-law, who has been terminally ill and on hospice for the past 10 months, may die. They don't expect her to last the weekend. Which is actually good because she's suffering.

I also had a close friend commit suicide on Thanksgiving. It sucks and I find it hard not to think abut it every year. I'm sorry you've experienced so much loss on a holiday that is all about being with loved ones. Hugs to you.

hahahaha NO WAY! That would be funny though. I've definitely scared boyfriends away before with my family (even though they would never admit it) LOL
