Boiled or Grilled Chicken?

If lean chicken is part of your normal diet, which method do you prefer? Which is healthier?
I've been boiling my skinless chicken leg quarters (cos i love the dark meat) for as long as I can remember. It's a lot easier for me to cook than using a skillet.

You can't beat grilled. Unless it's fried, but that's added calories.
Since you're cooking leg quarters, I would grill them or bake them on a pan in the oven so the fat can render out. We bake chicken wings on a pan in the oven for an hour with some liquid smoke, and it tastes like they were grilled. Add some Frank's red hot sauce, and you've got yourself a pretty healthy serving of hot wings.0 -

I always bake mine. I didn't even know you could boil meat. :S0

Not that I boil chicken, but with ribs I will boil them and then grill them afterwards. Boiling them gets some of the fat out, the water is disgusting when I pour it out.0

This man speaks the truth.
Also, why is "baked" not an option?

so this if those are the only choices. but what about roasting?
boiled meat just sounds like something that's served in prisons or places where they dont care about flavor.
i mean seriously how do you season boiled meat (hint, seasoning stuff after its been cooked isn't properly seasoning it)0 -
boiling meat reminds me of Jeffrey Dahmer....................

I boil chicken breasts in stock and add a bay leaf. Then I shred them and use for sandwiches. The meat is very tasty and moist when boiled.0

If you boil your chicken on a VERY low heat with some thing in the water to flavour it it's known as poaching and will give you very tender delicious chicken.0

Roast, baked, pan fried or grilled (broiled). Depends on what the meal as a whole is. Boiled though?! :sick:0

Grilled chicken wins! The flavor just tops everything But it depends a little on the meal, in soup or something like that it doesn't really matter if you have grilled or boiled chicken and boiled chicken is actually easier then0
-
Blech! People actually boil chicken and eat it? That sounds awful.0

I thought boiled sounded strange too, but right now I have chicken breasts in the crock pot with a jar of salsa waiting on me for dinner at home- isn't that sort of like boiling it?? This super easy chicken is AMAZING btw0

Rub chicken leg quarters with seasoning salt, place in crock pot, cook on high for 4 hours. Doesn't get easier than that.
It'll render out a lot of liquid. If you pour it into a container and refrigerate it, you can remove the fat that hardens on top, and the rest of it is like concentrated chicken broth.0 -
Diced and grilled with veggies and spices0

I actually like boiled chicken... I like how tender it gets. You don't have to boil it in water, you know. You can boil it in chicken broth or alcohol.0
