Beer usually packs it on. There is a lot of controversy over diet sodas. That the Aspratine can actually cause weight gain. I don't know if I believe it or not. But I do know that when I go a week or so with out a soda, I usually feel better. It's only a craving that I get and drink one, then two, then three, and then it lasts a week or so before I stop again.

I eat wheat and gluten. I have low body fat and visible abs.

I also have beer, diet soda, pizza and ice cream.

No to OP's question and No to the above

(Unless you've gone to a doctor and have been found to be legitimately gluten intolerant..then of course common sense would be to stay away from gluten.)

Why would you think it's bad for weight loss?

Here's what's bad for weight loss: Excess calories.

That's really it. Everything else is unrelated to weight loss. Count the calories in and count the calories out, and make sure the calories in is less than the calories out on a sustained and consistent basis. There's NOTHING else you HAVE to do to lose weight. You can do other stuff, but that's the essence of weight loss.

Diet Pepsi has zero calories, so unless you're allergic to Diet Pepsi, it should have no effect on your weight loss.

I can't speak with any credibility regarding weight loss but I can about having a flat stomach! Personally, I find minimizing sugar and food high in sodium makes a noticeable difference as I tend to feel better and look less bloaty.

Just my personal, non-scientific experience, you "no" folks :flowerforyou:

It's pretty well documented that gluten causes bloat, even in people without a tested intolerance.

Can't agree with you here, one size does not fit all, OP could experiment by eliminating gluten/wheat which bloats some people. You don't have to go a doctor to undertake food trials on yourself. But if you do them, 100% eliminate for 90 days before reintroducing to note any changes/reaction. If no changes/reactions gluten/wheat may not be problem for you. You can't hurt yourself by undertaking this kind of food trial on gluten/wheat.

Please cite credible sources to back this up. If it's well documented, you'll have no issue finding it.

Any "diet" drink is not good for health.

For me, I avoid sugar and starch...that always helps me with my belly problems.
