Do you allow yourself a treat everyday or less than that?

I eat relatively healthy, but I always seem to crave sugar, so I will allow myself to eat something sugary and not so healthy when I get home (although the treat varies). Is there anyway to control this craving for sugary sweets like chocolate and cake? I go on mini-binges and feel awful afterwards, even though I can fit it into my calories (although I cut it close).

I just love chocolate and tried cutting it out, it backfired and I binged. Now, I put chocolate in something basically daily. I always fit it into my macros, so it's not a big deal. I will put some chocolate chips in my oatmeal, drink some chocolate almond milk...etc, or just eat a piece of chocolate! I don't binge anymore because of this. Works for me!
If you can control yourself and only have a small quantity then I don't see a problem in doing it daily0 -
I echo above. Tried to cut it out and it backfired. I always keep a treat around. Hot chocolate, some cookies, right now there's a Boston Cream Pie on the counter. I do have about 1/4 of what I would like, but I eat it slowly and enjoy every bite. I make sure it fits into my calorie goal too. I also discovered the blog Chocolate Covered Katie a while ago and that's been great. I use so many of her recipes to make healthy treats. The Nutella rice krispie treats are my favorite.0

I don't "allow" myself a treat. I'm not a dog. LOL. If I want something I eat it. If it's too much, I exercise.0

My daily treat is not even so much of a cheat! I found the Dole Dark Chocolate Strawberry Dippers in the frozen food section. Each little package is only 60 cals, 6 carbs and 4 g fat. So yum! (and totally diet friendly!) My nightly snack!0

Depends. A lot of time my treats are some Greek yogurt, protein bar, or some Graze box snacks. But typically yeah I have 300ish calories of whatever I want every day.0

I have a Skinny Cow ice cream bar just about every day. I also choose protein bars that are on the on the sweeter side and my Greek yogurt and coffee in the mornings tend to be sweeter flavors. As long as it fits in your goals and you don't have any medical conditions that would restrict you, I don't see a problem with a daily treat.0

I'll allow myself something small everyday. Like others have said, I too have tried to eliminate completely and it just turned into bingeing constantly.0

For all you moderation preachers..............having a treat everyday is not moderation.0

Not every day, but several times a week. Tonight, the kids are making Christmas sugar cookies...frosted with sprinkles. I already put one in my foods.0

I allow a treat when I want one but not daily, if I know I want something I will plan for it to fit into my food diary or workout extra to have it.0

I can see you don't know what moderation means...
Op: I eat what I want as long as it fits my calorie and other nutritional goals. IIFYM!0 -
I realized the more I ate sugar the more I craved it. So now it's a once a week treat.0

as long as you can fit it into your daily diet0

FO SHO....every day a little something sweet0

I leave room almost everyday for either Skinny Cow ice cream bar (chocolate or caramel truffle only 100cals each) or a glass of chocolate almond milk (also 100cals). Now whether I get around to enjoying them is another thing. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time most days to even think about a treat but I still leave room if I NEED something sweet.0

I tend to save my cookies and desserts for the weekend (cause I bake on the weekend), but during the week my something sweet on most days is oatmeal. It sounds stupid but you can put ANYTHING in it. Nutella/coconut=mounds. peanut butter/nutella=reeses. the oatmeal fills me more then a chocolate bar would and it's probably the same amount of calories cause you can put as much of the topping as you want. That being said, if you want a cookie then have a cookie. Cause if you don't then your craving will just go into hiding and then when it comes out angry.....you'll eat ALL THE COOKIES! so have some cake or chocolate if you want it.0

most days!0

When it fits and I really want something I will have a little bit. It doesn't tend to be daily unless I am stressed.0

Define treat. Because I don't care for candy all that much! But I do enjoy my cheese-string that I have once or twice a day!0

I hit my calorie goals and I hit my macros...I get my vitamins and minerals and requisite proteins and fats and then I eat whatever I want so long as I hit all of those other goals. Having a "treat" or not having a "treat" is meaningless to your weight loss.
Get your nutrition on and hit your calorie goals...and then go have some jelly beans. You don't get extra credit for more broccoli.0 -

Huh?
ETA: I see that others have already addressed it, so I won't pile on.0 -
You can't cut it out because that leads to binge eating, but try to make good choices. Instead of peanut butter I use chocolate peanut better but I eat it on 2 rice cakes (under 300 cal total) but that would be my breakfast. Laughing cow desserts are also a good option. I make a batch (2dozen) of cookies for my kids I only bake 6 at time time (so we each get one) and freeze the rest of the dough to use at a later date. Don't deprive yourself just be mindful0

I sometimes use strawberry jam on some cookies, every other day I ate a block or 2 (10-20g) of dark chocolate. Since you crave on sugar and want to eat chocolate and cake try to make something that is healthy, like the vegan 2 ingrediente cookie. http://www.theburlapbag.com/2012/07/2-ingredient-cookies-plus-the-mix-ins-of-your-choice/
they are so good and satisfy your sugar cravings.0 -
I personally can`t have a treat per day because one brings another one, then another one.... So I try to keep it for special occasions and not 2 days in a row. Anyway right now I care more about losing weight then eating treats, so I don`t really miss them.0
