Do you need to live the way you currently do per month? (Diet, home bills, entertainment bills, misc $)

I'm just curious!

This is how my budget ended up for the month of November 2013

    Water Bill $31.96
    Rent $702.00
    Car Loan $450.00
    Cell Phone $38.00
    Electric Bill $78.68
    Internet Bill $29.99
    Gasoline $194.81
    Grocery/Entertainment $453.36

    TOTAL $1,978.80

I REALLY need to get rid of that huge car payment!

We average about $7,100 per month in total bills (including credit card expenditures and daycare). We carry no credit card balance from month to month so that is a big bill each month. But I do get about 3,500 a year in cash back on my Amex card.

Figure in health insurances, life insurances, kids, investments, etc along with other monthly expenses and I bet everyone's would go up more. Luckily some of that is pre-tax so the money is working harder and smarter.

Don't forget, some people don't pay their own living expenses. Others make those payments, presumably for good reasons (family, fun, legal ruling, etc.)

I used to put everything on AMEX for the cash back, but they limit to certain purchases and payments now. Still do a lot through it and get back a nice chunk of change the end of each year.

Takehome pay in my house (after insurance, retirement, and taxes) is about $6,000.00 per month.
This pays for a mortgage on a house, two car payments, and all the other fun crap that comes with living.

where you live comes into play also.
Living in Manhatten on 3500 would be impossible.
Living in Boise, you would be living large.
