Thanks for the help but i know for a fact that i am not eating too many calories dude :P
You know for a fact? But you said you don't log your cheat day. So no, you don't know for a fact. It's simple science. If you're not losing weight, you're not eating at a calorie deficit. Did you read the entire blog? What worked for you before is not working because of #9. This is not complicated dude.0 -
You could look on google about carbing up, which is what bodybuilders do to try to bulk up before hitting protein
is it? i must be doing it wrong...0 -
'New diets'
Diets in general are a load of cr@p. Just eat less of what you normally eat and dont go overboard on high calorie stuff. Thats all you need. Diets that say just eat this and this and this and this but not this...... a complete load of b0110cks, and the sad thing is that the people who came up with them are probably loaded as a result of making you believe that they are revolutionary...0 -
This ^
I continue to lose 2.5lbs a week following these rules I don't have a cheat day as I cannot see the point in cheating myself!0 -
It all looks good, imho. I don't know why you haven't lost lbs or inches in a while. Are you actually using a tape measure or are you going by fit of your clothes?
You might have to get creative (but don't lower your calories if you know your measuring is accurate). Definitely track your cheat days and take an exact average in case it's that, but it seems like you are eating low enough to still lose.
I'd eat higher one more day a week, but just to maintenance (a bit above is what I do). I'd just try it and see. I really do have a weird thing where I have to eat high to lose, but mine's only once a week. It doesn't make a lot of sense, honestly, but eating higher really does help a lot of folks when stuck. I don't think you have to do it everyday, but I'd try to add one more and see. Good luck!0 -
Me again. About upping your protein. It might just work; I'm a vegetarian, and getting the right amount of protein has always been a challenge. I was 200 pounds a couple of months ago but couldn't lose a single pound while dieting and exercising until I increased my protein intake and started taking foods with a lot of anti oxidants (cranberries, lemons- anything with a lot of vit C) as I figured that with age my metabolism was getting "crappier"- pardon my French. I didn't increase my cals but broke down my meals in order to achieve the same cal intake but with more meals and fewer carbs (thus decreasing the insulin spike post meals): instead of 3 average meals I changed to a medium breakfast, a mid morning snack, a solid lunch and a light diner. Hope this helps.
Again, don't hesitate to search on MFP or Google "how to break a weight loss plateau". Also don't hesitate to keep asking more questions, that's what this community is for, even though opinions and experiences may vary. Hey, even nutritionist disagree, if not why would there be thousands of nutrition books out there??? I for one always read up and double check the advice given on forums before trying anything new or sounds counter intuitive.
PS: You talked about weight, but do you also track your success by measuring yourself (waist etc.)? It may sound cliché but you might be gaining muscle.
PPS: I don't log everyday, a bit of a hassle for me. so I get that you wouldn't want to log on your cheat day. But someone posted that you could log once or the day after to see your average cal intake, sounds like a good plan. That's what I do when I change up my diet to see if I'm not underestimating my cals. Whatever advice you decide to go with, I wish you success!0 -
