I don't have time or energy to scope other food journals, but if it makes you feel better, my husband is one of those people and it drives me crazy. His day consisted of 3 bowls of lucky charms cereal and red robins. At red Robins he had fries, a burger, and bottomless root beer float. Then he complained about his tummy hurting. ... :/

I stuck with my chicken and salad. I felt great afterwards...

OP, do you have a can of soda every day?

I could never drink a can of soda every day. I stopped drinking soda about 15 years ago and plan to keep not drinking it for the rest of my life. I'm happy without it, it works for me.

Whenever I see someone with salads or veggies in their diary, I weep for them. Live a little.

Even worse, if there's no beer, I de-friend them.

GROSS! Use bread for chrissakes. Cookie sandwiches are disgusting. Have some self respect.

I wonder.... did the OP abandon this thread when everyone didn't jump on the judgy bandwagon?

    BTW - have you ever looked into "clean eating"? You have a lot of processed foods in your diary, personally I couldn't eat that way, I don't think it's healthy or sustainable in the long run for a healthy diet. {{{sarcasm}}}

Wow this girl has some balls!!! Can you say hypocrite????? Each person hear is on their own personal journey of their own reasons. Who are you to judge? Who am I? None of us are perfect or we couldn't be on this sight. A little tolerance for others would be nice

Go ahead and pick away at mine. I eat what I want when I feel like it. I don't eat a lot of fruit because I don't care for much of it. I like hamburgers and pizza too, and candy.

I lost 75lb eating what I felt like. If you can't handle my Calorie Dense meals on the go - that's your problem.
It worked well enough for me.

    Hi, OP:

I'm willing to bet that very soon, something will happen in your life and you won't care so much about other peoples' food choices.

    Just a hunch.

Why do you even care what other people are eating? The only time I'll look at people's diaries is to find some new food ideas.

The only time I look at them is if people are asking for help. OP clearly is:

    1. Nosy
    2. Judgmental
    3. A hypocrite

Hell, my life is boring and empty and i don't care much about other people's food choices.

Oh, unless I'm scooping for ideas. I do all kinds of snooping if I know that person eats good food on the regular.

    Sustainability is key.

You have to eat in a way that works for you long term. There's no point in filling yourself full of "healthy" food if you feel tortured and deprived the entire time. I found that as I stuck with the program, got comfortable with my calorie goal, and educated myself about food and fitness, my food choices slowly evolved in such a way that my diet was fairly balanced and easy to stick to. We're all going through a process and finding what works best for us so that we can do this for life.

I eat veggies because I like them. But I also eat cake and pizza and french fries, and I drink beer, because I like those things too.
I just stick to my calorie goal and try to hit my macros, so I'm not too worried about it.

    Love this answer!
  • I think you've all scared her away from her own thread ^.^ But agree-if you want to make constructive criticism to friends who ask for it, it's one thing but lol @ trying to shame people on forums for their food choices-not to mention if everyone always made the right food choices (including the OP) there probably wouldn't be much of a need for MFP.

OP what would you say about this diary?

Maybe she'll do better on the island than I thought

I tend to look for new or different meals when looking at someone's diary. Not as a way to compare my diet to theirs.
Bingo! I love looking through other peoples' diaries, but mostly just for new food ideas. Because I lack imagination. And if I ever feel the need to judge a person who is eating extraordinarily unhealthy on a consistent basis .. well, I just keep it to myself!

At least the the butter in the garlic bread has no preservatives lol. Depending on when it was made :grumble:

I must admit I get judgy when it comes to eggs. Cage eggs are not an item to be proud off. Skip wasting money on supplements and buy eggs that come from happy chooks.

You know, I used to never look through other peoples' diaries, but i have looked through them a bunch lately out of curiosity.

i get the opportunity to see what people with different goals eat. I think it's interesting and I kinda get to know them better.

I'm one judgmental biznich, but I'm shocked that I'm not about diaries.

I'd rather spend the money on unhappy chicks, since their eggs are only .69/dozen. I can't afford the $3+/dozen that happy chick's eggs cost. I don't waste money on supplements, either, fwiw.

I was just going to ask HOW do you know if a chicken is happy? Raised in a cage, it knows nothing else. I think it's pretty damn happy it gets lots of regular food, but I've never been able to read chickens that well.

While I do follow a plant-based diet, I don't think you or anyone else is in any position to make rigid judgments about the choices others make for themselves. All you can do is live by example and state the truth when opportunity presents itself but don't force your views on others.
