Let's see, since we all KNOW it's NOT calories in calories out, you therefore must:
1. Skip breakfast for awesome hunger control (really, don't mind your stomach growling, it doesn't know what it's taking about).
2. Drink 32 oz of water before each meal.
3. Throw all the sugar, flour, and grains in the trash (don't bother with the foodbank, what do you want to do, POISON those poor people?)
4. Drink 4 glasses of apple cider vinegar (Braggs is the only one guaranteed to work).
5. Eat 12 small meals a day (after your morning fast of course).
6. Get up and do jumping jacks every 10 minutes for 20 minutes.

Did you log while you were gaining? Do you know where the calories/sugar, etc... came from? I assume you don't really need us to tell you what to do, per se, you probably already know that.
That said, accept the gain as an aberration, b/c of the holidays cause us all to veer off the path a little. You do not necessarily need to purge your body or fast (though, nothing wrong with those ideas), just re-focus on what helped you lose those 4 pounds previously (as long as it was healthy).
If you did it before, doing it the second time should be even easier.

(The holidays (holi-daze) are such a challenge... I had some weight gain around Thanksgiving and am finally starting to shed some of it. I want to fit into my cute jeans again!!!!)

Thank you all for being so helpful! I think I'm gonna do a cleanse, amputate something, go on the cabbage soup diet and join a convent. I'm sure I'll lose 40 or 50 pounds by New Years so I can wear a slinky dress!!0
