Hey MFP!
Do any of you motivate yourself by giving yourself a gift when you reach certain weights (i.e. -10 lbs, -15, -20, -40 etc etc)
I'm trying to make a list for myself. So I want to see what other people do (if they do it at all :P )

I got a massage when I hit 30 pounds lost. Now I'm trying to think about something for 50. I wouldn't mind some suggestions!0

I might take that idea!0 -
When I started last March I said no more vacations until I hit my goal. I just returned from a cruise! I hit my original goal at the end of October.
I didn't set goals in between really.0 -
Maybe some fun shoes :-). But more likely clothes in a smaller size, and some new running shoes.0

shoes and clothes are almost like a necessity :P0

No, I just buy stuff when I need it (runners, clothes, etc.)0

what about anybody else?
Do you give yourself gifts as incentives/motivation for losing weight?0 -
Bump. I need ideas
Shoes? A spa day? A shopping spree? A date night? what do you all do?0 -
I have some ideas. I was thinking the tattoo I wanted, Trip to a sate I haven't been to, a day at the casino with my mom, shopping spree, books for my collection. I think you just have to think what you want and use it as a goal.0

Just clothes.0

I've said in another one that for every pound I lose, I put £1 in a jar (if you're American, you could put $1 instead) and if I've lost 6lbs, I'll get myself something like a 3DS game or something I want. This time, I'm going to get myself a kettlebell if I see one cheap enough.0

yeah i dont really count those as rewards because if you lose enough, you sort of have to get new stuff. for instance i know for me 25 pound loss not only means a change in clothing sizes but also a shoe size.
my gifts to myself are things like new nail polish, bracelet, blu-ray/dvd, earrings, mani/pedi.0 -

Buying the next size DOWN pair of pants is the greatest gift I can give myself.0 -
whenever I have tried before I have always put incentives next to my goals getting better treats the better I get - not done it this time yet though as quite short on funds usually things like:
G1 - funky socks (I love silly socks and can get them for £1)
G2 - a book (love reading usually about £5)
G3 - new underwear set (matching set always makes you feel nice/sexy + with loss you may need it £20ish)-
G4 - a full body massage (wont have one of these when I am feeling too fat so always good when I get near final goal weight £35)
Reach final goal weight - new outfit!!
Also things like manicures/pedicures/eyebrows etc
Never use food as a treat
Actually think I have just made my new list!! Thank you0 -

This is a great idea - I think I should be worth at least 5 bucks a pound When I first quit smoking, I would put aside 5 dollars a day (the cost of a pack of smokes) - I would use it to buy myself rewards. If I had kept it up, I would have over 14 grand by now but eventually I stopped thinking about it (mostly because I finally was sure I would never smoke again).0 -

I live in Sydney and massages are super cheap so I get a quick one everytime I feel disheartened or Iif I have had a really awesome day and my body deserves it.
I am currently 74.2kg, my rewards are as follows:
-73kg Spa day
-69.8kg Registering for a Pole Dancing class that I've always felt too fat to do
-67kg Haircut at one of the nice salons
-66.6kg Booking a holiday
-63.5kg A whole new wardrobe
P.S I know my goals seem really random but I grew up with Stones and lbs not Kgs so my milestones (college weight, high school weight) are strange when translated!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE, BE KINF TO YOURSELVES0 -
Right now I don't have any small goals. I am first working off the weight that I gained. I was down 32 pounds. I gained a lot of that back. So that is just goal one..get my butt back there. All my summer clothes are for that weight or smaller. So I need to get there.
After that it will go in 10 pound increments. I will still want to lose about 55 pounds to start with.
On the list of ideas:
Google play cards to rent/buy stuff for my tablet or phone
nails and toes done
When I hit Oneder land I have not weighed under 200 pounds in over 20 years. I am getting a pair of diamond stud earrtings..not to $$$ but just a reminder.
At the goal of 180 I am buying a Michael Kors purse. I have about 80 pounds to go!0 -
I have goals for my loss.
When I reach 250lbs, I want to buy a bike to ride
At 199lbs I want to buy a cute sundress!
At 170lbs go to Six Flags and ride roller coasters all day long without worrying about the safety items fitting!0
