wow..this group is really growing..thanks a ton to the person who thought of this...
quick question for all of you...probably asked lot of times before..are you eating back your exercise calories?
I have had a hard time figuring this out....for a long time I just did not log the exercise because I did not want to see it subtracted from my daily calorie count as it would give me a free pass to eat more.
But this is how it is supposed to work (i think)
Say my Basal metabolic rate is 1300 and I sit a lot during thd day so my total daily caloric needs are 1700
To lose 1 lb/ week my caloric intake needs to be 1200
1200 cal is below my BMR , so if I limit my intake this low, my metabolism will shut down to avoid "starvation" (HAHA too bad it won't use the 40,000 calories stored as fat!!)
I need to eat at least 1400 cal to keep my metabolism up, so the other 200 cal need to come from exercise to get me to my wt loss goal - hence the "net calorie" goal.
I still get confused when I look at the various number and have to stop and think about it.

My downfall is fast food.
I'm not a tea drinker, but I have become one. When I get hungry, I drink a cup of hot tea. It seems to take the hunger away for awhile.

Would love to join, thanks for coming up with this. Don't have 40 to lose, but 30 pounds (goal for this year) and shredding my waist circumference. Mid summer is ideal , coincides with next Dr appointment and want my numbers good this time around.
