Lol who cares. I go and work out and leave. I do feel kind of silly when I wear an outfit that is all "matchy matchy" though lol. I feel like people are going to think I planned it out that way so i would look cute.

I want a gym where the girls all wear cute outfits, nice perfume, proper makeup, and prance around in the mirror while lifting heavy

You should come to my gym then. That describes me to a T :)

Definitely no muffin eating at the gym, especially while talking on your phone while walking too slow on the treadmill,

Just don't ask me to work in while I'm doing my circuit with the bench, squat rack, and the lat pull-down.

WHOA!! Hold on there......that's MY circuit.

(Actually, that IS my circuit-- but I only do it when the equipment is free, I work fast, and I invite anyone nearby to work in if necessary. )

As long as you don't take up the fast lane in the lap pool treading water and/or leaning on the wall, we good.

What can you do at the gym?

    Willy Wonka:
    [Spoken]
    Hold your breath
    Make a wish
    Count to three

    [Sung]
    Come with me
    And you'll be
    In a world of
    Pure imagination
    Take a look
    And you'll see
    Into your imagination

    We'll begin
    With a spin
    Traveling in
    The world of my creation
    What we'll see
    Will defy
    Explanation

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
    Wanta change the world?
    There's nothing
    To it

    There is no
    Life I know
    To compare with
    Pure imagination
    Living there
    You'll be free
If you truly wish to be

If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
    Wanta change the world?
    There's nothing
    To it

    There is no
    Life I know
    To compare with
    Pure imagination
    Living there
    You'll be free
    If you truly
    Wish to be

Because according to all the whiners I can't:

    *Wear deodorant to the gym
    *Wear perfume to the gym
*Run on the treadmill next to you
*Wear make up to the gym
*Use my phone at the gym
    *Socialize at the gym

Huh. I'm guilty of 5 out of 6 of those things but you know what, maybe I don't want to smell. Maybe I want a little bit of cover up for my face (it's not a full face!), maybe I like to be on my phone while my hands are free (treadmill, etc). Please, if you don't accept people working out next to you at the gym then you shouldn't be there at all and as for socialising that is okay too as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. For example: The other day when I was at the gym someone had their stuff at the machine I needed and I noticed they were talking away to some people - I didn't want to be rude so I went on the treadmill instead but the fact of the matter is, I wasn't able to use the machine because he was socialising, in that case it isn't acceptable.

The only thing that makes me mad about the gym is when people wear baseball caps....and haven't shaved.

You guys must go to some judgy gyms. I go to Planet Fitness and I agree that it's the easiest going gym I've been to. The others were a local community center, YMCA, and 24 Hour Fitness. Planet Fitness is cheap, the people are nice, and the only rules that I remember are no jeans and no cell phone calls except in the lobby. I'm fine with both of those, they don't really enforce the jean thing too much. I've seen older ladies on the treadmills in jeans.

Haven't read ALL the responses, yet...but the first thing that comes to my mind is you can simply stand around and judge, then post it on the forums.

Apparently you can knit while walking on the treadmill I"ve seen it happen. It's their money but I do try and work out a few spaces down in case they trip and needles go flying!

Well according to the people here the ONLY things you can and should be doing at the gym are:

    -Squats
    -Dead lifts

No need for any other sort of workout because apparently you hit all the major muscle groups with those two exercises. Your workout can be done in 15 minutes!

If you can't do those then don't even bother stepping foot in a gym.

I've been wondering how the anti-fragrance crowd feels about the scent of the cleaning spray that is provided to sanitize the equipment after you sweat on it. Or whether they just don't wipe anything down....cuz, this gym I've been going to smells like that, and not wiping is own little pet peeve

You're obviously allowed to wear baggy unflattering clothing, look as crappy as possible, smell terrible while lifting and/or using an cardio machine with a one machine buffer on either side. If you're lifting, whatever you do don't look around at other people, talk, text or do anything remotely productive looking in-between your sets. Sit still and look straight ahead or, better yet, down at the ground in case people think you are watching them or judging them because they're scared of the gym and all the judgy muscle-bound weight lifting meat heads.

*goes home to throw out all remotely attractive or revealing workout clothes*

This is what I do. It seems to work

You can eat pizza with a cauliflower crust. Hell, some gyms even feature pizza days.

You could always lift some weights while you are there. Just a crazy suggestion.
  • You can Shower and then dry your sack with the hair dryer while standing in front of the mirror.
