  • Funny thing about scars, some are visible others are internal. . . To me is a memory of something that happened and as a result you are a better and bigger person. :flowerforyou:

Scars on men. Specifically, do they influence you thoughts on attractiveness when you first lay eyes on them for the first time?

Scars are interesting. Like telling a story. The body is the blank canvas, the scars are the words that tell the tale. I've got quite a few of my own. They definitely add character to what could just be ordinary.

I am not bothered by them at all. I actually have a pretty significant one myself. I am very self conscious about it. It would be interesting to hear what other men think about this also.

I personally think scars are hott. My ex had a huge one down his back, I guess someone had cut him, and it was sexy.
  • Scars are hot. Don't know why... but they are.

I forget about my scars until someone asks me about them. I burned the left half of my body when I was a child, but the only visible to most people is the scarring on my left arm.

If you see the rest of my scars, we have already gotten past the "getting to know you" stage.

For me, they are intriguing. They tell a story and give an idea of what type of person they are. I have my own scars, plenty, so it would be hypocritical for someone like me frown upon scars on another. I think if a woman can't look at your scars and accept them for the beauty that is your story, then she doesn't deserve you anyway.

It brings to mind my favorite quotes, the one from Marilyn (or whoever it was since people don't think Marilyn said it) on my profile and Eleanor Roosevelt's "no one can make you feel inferior without your consent" quote, which is the one I try to live by.

*Fixed my post so Ash doesn't beat me up.

My husband has a scar between his eyes from where his brother threw a hardback book at him on his first day of kindergarten. Right as he got on the bus! Every time I notice it, I can't help but smile thinking about how his mom tells the story. He also has a huge freckle birthmark on his shoulder that stretches across is back. It makes him unique and I love it.

Scars are just healed skin. I have loads of them from an unfortunate battle with depression as a teenager. I've been more concerned with my own scars to notice them on others. My husband has a scar or two and since he doesn't mind mine, I don't mind his.
  • Yes, they influence my attractiveness towards them. I am MUCH more attracted to men with scars. It shows character, and someone who has overcome obstacles in many cases. I'm much more intrigued to know their story.

Exactly and tattoos do the same.
