    Sex stuff.

    I don't keep my gun (Makarov 9x18) in the nightstand - too obvious. I keep it, an extra clip and a box of ammo in a canvas case just under the edge of the bed. Got burgled and they didn't find it.

    40 Caliber S&W Military and Police Double Action Automatic Pistol for protection ... no kids in my house!

    Underwear and a Smith and Wesson .22 pistol with a 10-shot clip. And an extra clip.

    I'm terribly boring I guess. Lotion for my hands and feet, pillow spray to help me sleep, my scarf I wear when I have oil on my hair, my Kindle, my toe separator socks, and lip balm. My husband has all the "good" stuff on his side since mine is all filled up with beauty crap.

    I have to comment about the gun we just got. We never wanted one in the house until the Boston Marathon Bombing and the aftermath less then an hour from our home in a residential neighborhood occurred. I also couldn't get to sleep after a nurse a few towns over from us were brutally murdered with machetes and her daughter only survived because she pretended she died (they broke into their house at night randomly - and I also found out the same guys broke into my coworkers house a few weeks prior to it and robbed them). I couldn't sleep for a long time after that occurred and still can't occasionally when I think about it. I want a chance to defend myself, American or not.

    Good for you, but you don't have to make excuses or explain to anyone why you have the right to be safe in your own home.
    You have a responsibility to protect yourself for your family.
