How many pounds a week do YOU shoot for ?

Depends on your amount to lose. I look at %. I only have around 5% more to lose and am small so I eat 1200 cal a day and exercise. It is really hard to reduce 3500 cals so it takes a while to lose. As u get closer to goal and weight leas, the % of loss is less and it still takes3500 to get rid a a pound0

in terms of weightloss...? i don't. whatever happens, happens.
in terms of bacon...? i aim to eat at least 5 pounds a week.0 -
I aim for 1 lb/week, but I lose a little more than that.
I eat about 1,350 - 1,500 calories a day and exercise 3 times a week burning at least 400 calories a time.0 -
I don't think of it as pounds per week because due to fluctuations during each month, I tend to lose very slowly for a few weeks and then drop 2-4 lb all at once. I am set to lose 1.5 lb/week and that's roughly accurate for me over the past 10 months since joining.
My current calories (with no exercise, sedentary) are 1,320 but most days I log exercise and eat back some or all calories, so I tend to hover between 1,400-1,600.0 -
I don't like to have my expectations too high so I generally just aim for a pound a week. But I've been losing more than that. That is probably due to the fact that I have like 60 pounds to lose though. I'm 5'1, I started at 195 and I am now 182.5. I have been on this journey for a month and a half. I try to eat at 1574, sometimes I go over sometimes I'm under.
I know my weightloss will eventually slow so that's why I only aim for a one pound loss a week, more is always a surprise!0 -
I eat 1400-1600 a day, and MFP says I should lose 2lb a week this way. I've lost 8lb since January 1st, so I'm guessing it's pretty spot on so far Any loss is fab for me though.0

I set MFP up for 1-1.5 per week and it has me on an 1860 calorie per day target. Here's the big thing, though. I really don't care all that much about the scale. I only plan on weighing myself every other week. Maybe in a little while I will weigh myself once a week. See, scales SUCK! I much prefer NSVs. For instance, yesterday I wore a pair of pants that are one waist size smaller than I've been wearing. Over the past three weeks I've noticed my clothes fitting better, I have more energy, people have noticed I've lost some weight, and I don't get as winded as I have in the past.
Don't become a slave to the scale. If you're gaining muscle and losing fat YOU ARE WINNING!0 -
2 lbs per week - 1390 calories
lightly active on the settings0 -
My goal is 2 lbs a week.
I have my calorie goal set to 1500 a day, and am exercising daily, burning approx 300-400 a day.
Right now im losing 5 a week, but im just starting on my path, and im heavier, so I know it comes off quicker right now, and will then slow down .0 -
I don't lose weight easily at all. As long as it's not a positive number on the scale, I'll call it a victory and keep plugging along.0

I eat about 1800-1900 cals on in 'inactive' days and about 2000-2400 on the days I work out. I am male, 5 foot 11 and 284 lbs and have been losing 2lbs on week doing this over the last month.0

To get an idea of what any of that even means though, you really need to be getting more information from people... such as How much they currently weigh/have to lose, for example. Otherwise, this questions is really kinda pointless.
That's true - I have only been tracking since Jan 1/14 an dropped way more than 2 per week but I have LOTS to lose so I expect that it will slow down fairly soon. Hopefully when it does I will still lose at least 1 lb per week. It does make a difference when you set your activity level when you make your profile. Sedentary VS Lightly Active VS Moderately Active VS Very Active will all make a difference.0 -
2 lbs a week at 1200 cals a day, but I am losing way more than that because I am super pudgy.0
-
2-2.5 pounds is what I aim for, but I lost 4 pounds my first week o.e
I try to eat a net amount of calories of 1200, but I usually have about 1000 calories of exercise per day P:0
