Good morning all...I'm off to boot camp this morning. This is our high cardio day so I am a little nervous. All the other days so far have been weight training. I will just have to modify and go at my own pace until I get stronger. I'm heading to the beach for my niece's wedding tomorrow so I won't be back on until Monday. Hope you all have a great weekend!

    Have fun!!

Happy Monday...NOT!! My day started with a computer virus but thankfully I finally got it fixed. Now I am doing my work that should have been done by 1:00 today. I'll be working up until my softball game at 6:30 or later. I just finished week 1 of boot camp and feel somewhat stronger. It may have been just a touch easier than last Monday, not sure yet. I got back from my niece's wedding last night. It was beautiful. Overall I made good food choices. I walked on the beach every day. I was only up about half a pound this morning so hopefully it won't hang around. Hope you all have a healthy day.

Had my first day of truck driving school today and it was great even tho I only got 5 hours of sleep last night.

Everyone at the school is very friendly and I can't wait to get at it again tomorrow. I am exhausted today and spent 9 hours outside so I am going to be early tonight and will get back at it tomorrow :drinker:

Hi all...Hope today is better than yesterday. I started with a crashed computer and ended with a frustrating softball game. I plan on it being my last. I am playing adult co-ed and mostly am sitting on the bench. I had to stop working last night and run to the game without supper and sat the bench except for one inning. I am not an all star but I am better than most of the women playing. They are all either related or friends and I am the new girl. I just have too many things going on to go over there and watch a softball game. Oh well, maybe next season I can find a team or build my own. I am down another pound today to 167 so I am thankful for seeing some progress. Today my goal is to log all my food, drink more water (I drink too much decaf tea with Splenda) and be thankful for my many blessings. Hope you all have a great day:smile:

Happy hump day...I am having a good week. I have stayed within cals every day. I went over on sodium yesterday and I could tell it. I have started week 2 of boot camp and it is a little easier. I am on my 4th glass of water for today. I'm trying to keep a glass in front of my computer while I work instead of the tea that I normally drink. Hope you all have a great day. Where is everybody?

Hi all I am having a great time at truck driving school but I am having a hard time being good because there was no microwave or refer in my room like I was told so I can't get the good food I wanted to. Next week my room will have both. I am trying to get my water in. I am just having a hard time adjusting right now.

It is always harder for me when I am away from home. Just keep doing your best and making the best choices that are available to you for your meals. Good luck.

Happy Monday... I am down another 2 pounds this week, yeah!! Things are finally moving. I am staying within cals and exercising 4 days a week. I'd like to add on a little something on my off days from boot cap but haven't yet. Maybe this week. Have a good one.

So back home re-setting my goals for this week....

Since i still feel yucky with my cold - exercise 4 days (hopefully 2 strength--shred or BL Sculpt and two run days)

6 glasses of water (zero so far - I've had hot tea and coffee)

3 servings of veggies/fruits (already there for today)

No eating suppers out til the weekend. Only lunch out when I have to pick up my Mom on Tuesday and Friday.

I made homemade applesauce Saturday with Splenda and a touch of McCormicks cinnamon sugar - SO good!

Hey Chrissy - and everyone else, just ran across this thread - I see you've been going a week or two but would love to join!

I am refocused and making this work starting today.

I lost 25 pounds over a year ago, but by losing focus and some recent stress, I've gained back 10 of those, so I am starting over today to lose those 10 before Christmas.

Today I will eat the healthy food I packed for myself, fix a healthy veggie heavy dinner and will get in 1 hour of exercise. Also 10 glasses of water (I'm well on my way with 4 already)

Nice to meet you all, chat soon!

Hi Jenn-very happy to have you---and anyone else who wants to join - anytime jump on in!

I'll know where I'm at officially Friday - I know thru vacation, not running much over the summer and little strength training that it's not good BUT I am not discouraged and I'm working it back off! My goal is to maintain my size 10 Jeans hoping for 8s but 10 is max and I'm still there. 10 being a size smaller than my original goal I set in Aug 2008 when I started this.
  • Hey everyone! Just came across this and would love to join as well!

My name is Carla and I am 31 years old with 3 children. I became overweight about 6 years ago after the birth of my last child. My doctor believed that I had postpartum depression and put me on Prozac for 1 year. I gained between 40/50 pounds from the medicine. After I stopped taking it, I gained another 15 pounds and I am tired of being heavy, unhealthy, and unhappy. I tried to lose the weight 3 years ago, was going strong for a month when I had to have emergency surgery on my abdomen. During the recovery of the surgery, I wasn't allowed to exercise for 12 weeks. So, the 15 pounds that I lost in that solid month of exercising, I gained back during my 12 week recovery.. and I just never tried to exercise again. I constantly found myself thinking about how amazing I felt when I had been exercising, but I just couldn't bring myself to start it up again.

My turning point to get back on the right path was as I was looking through pictures of myself when I was younger and I became so angry! How could I do this to myself? How did I let this go on for so long? So, on 8/23/10 I decided enough is enough! I started exercising everday and cutting down on the amount of food that I eat and make smarter choices for food.

And you know what..I am finally starting to feel happy! I have lost 17 pounds so far! Currently for exercising I am using the Turbo Jam dvd's and I go walking. Yesterday during my 4 mile walk, I actually jogged for 2 full minutes. I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE, I was so completely excited.

I am excited about this group, I think that it's just what I needed. I look forward to chatting with all of you on this journey!

hrissy glad to have you back and welcome to all our new friends.

I have been struggling with everything since I got here to driving school not a lot of healthy options. I bought some stuff to cook in my microwave, but it not all of it is healthy but I am doing the best I can. THe weather here is cold and wet so I am not going to be able to run today (plus I forgot my workout short at home :grumble: )

Hope yall have a great week
If you have any suggestions of things I can cook in my microwave that doesn't have to be kept cold please let me know or if you have any snack ideas that don't have to be cold I will take any help I can get

Happy Wednesday...I went to lunch yesterday with my aunts and sister. We went thrifting and did a lunch buffet. I had smaller portions but I'm sure it was way too much. We had a great time though. I found an antique dresser with mirror and I am trying to find out how old it is now. I did P90X yoga today for the first time in boot camp and it is very hard. I have never done yoga before and this was pretty advanced. I did the best I could. I feel like I got a good workout but MFP doesn't count very many cals for yoga. I was sweating puddles lol. Hope you all have a great week.

    Chrissy...Hope you are feeling better.

Karla...Welcome. Congrats on your jogging accomplishment.

Smadog...(I'm not sure of your name) How about those steamer meals that don't have to be refrigerated and you can microwave them? I think I saw some at Bi-Lo but I haven't tried them. Good luck.

Walked 1 mile Monday, over 3 yesterday and just finished with a 2.5 mile walk/jog (jogged 1 mile of it) I feel like I'm starting over with having this cold but it's a start!

1 glass of water so far today........

I am also in a group called No More Excuses. It is a good group of people. The amount of posts just fluctuate. You could give it a try though. I try to post every couple of days.
  • Aww..don't give up on the group! Our group just needs a kick start!

How is everyone doing this week! I feel like my workout needs a new direction, I'm getting bored of doing the same routine..Thinking of buying TurboFire...has anyone tried it?
