Best pre-workout

Can anyone recommend a good pre-workout drink supplement? I've tried a couple but I'm looking for a pre-workout that won't give me that jittery feeling afterwards. Any suggestions?

Most pre-workouts are loaded with about 400 mg of caffeine among other non-caffeine stimulants, so more or less you are going to run into that problem with any of them.

Hemavol (powder not caps) is a stimulant free pre-workout that always gave me good tunnel-vision focus without jacking my heart rate up.

The industry is now flooded with theses "pre-workout" things, I don't quite get it. Just make sure you're well feed before your workout, 1h30-2h before, and well hydrated!!! If you feel like a pick me up, I would recommend coffee or green tea.

I use Pre Jym from Bodybuilding.com. First off, just works well. But more importantly (for me), there's no fluff. Only 13 ingredients, and everyone one of them are justified and beneficial. No proprietary blends.. just straight forward business. I highly recommend checking it out.

You don't "Need" a pre-workout, but when I want a nice blast of energy for the gym I take C4 Extreme, and when I want a good pump I go with Pump-HD.

Oh, and Alphamine has only 125 mg of caffeine. Cleanest energy you'll feel, and it is a powerful thermogenic too.

    these guys.

The 'I didn't take my pre-workout' lag apparently is awful.

    no thanks.

I have coffee all morning- rarely before I work out- I brute force my way through a workout- i don't need outside help trying to get my workouts on.
  • I have used a product called full blown not bad. However sometimes based on body weight if you adjust serving size may help with jitters. It is not a precise science on serving sizes body weight and tolerance plays in as well hope this helps
  • If I don't grab one of my homemade protein granola bars before I leave the house then I don't have anything. Except maybe coffee.

Coffee or caffeine pills are the cheapest. Add 2-5 milligrams of Yohimbine and you'll really feel jacked up. lol

Best one I tried thus far besides the now defunct Jacked 3D is C4, even though the beta alanine in C4 may make you feel like you rolled around in Pink Panther insulation. Tried Assault, Craze, N.O. Xplode as well.

:indifferent: Sweet post, brah. She didn't ask if you needed outside help or IF she should take. She asked for good recommendations on pre-workouts.

broscience is "needing" a pre-workout when most people don't need anything and if that a cup of coffee will do the trick just fine- or you know- good old fashioned hard work.

Everyone wants to take something to make them better. How about just being better instead of taking stuff?

There is no "best pre-workout" it's a waste of money. Grumble all you want- but just going in and lifting the old fashioned way is not broscience- DYELB?

    Lol! Schooled....

But it's true, what happened to people showing up and just getting it done?

Great description of the tingles, so true. While I don't use one frequently, like others I do like C4 on days when I just need an extra kick in the *kitten* to get off the couch. But yes, the Pink Panther insulation sensation is very pronounced.

Well...I do not like the feeling of starvation after a work out. I am pre -diabetic and my sugar will drop hard. I do good with drinking a protein shake hour before a work out.

I like Optimum Amino Energy. I workout at 430 am and seriously can't drag myself out of bed more than 10 minutes before I have to leave my house. I work until 1030 pm so I'm just TIRED. It does the trick.

    One cup of black coffee.

TBH, taking in a substantial amount of carbs right before you work out is rather silly. The insulin spike is a performance inhibitor. Better to wait until you're already into your workout and glycogen is being tapped and then ingest carbs to maintain/replenish.
