I have found that sex can lead to incredible emotional connection.

Which isn't going to happen without a strong physical attraction.

    or roofies

Ha! I almost typed that, except the topic was long term.

I believe in the triple combination... intelligence, emotional and physical,... fairly equally important.

    It can go either way
    Physical first then emotional
    Or vise versa
Ya just never know and either one can be fun and fulfilling

There needs to be a physical connection first, then comes the emotional connection afterwards.

Emotional connection because once that connection is established much of the time physical chemistry comes with it, but I don't think you can really separate the two. In saying that I am rarely attracted to someone without an emotional connection.

Definitely emotional connection. Eye candy is delicious for a while, but unfulfilling in the long run.

    Second that

Without intelligence, everything to talk about doesnt excite anymore
Without witty remarks between two, life is bored and stagnant
Without emotional feelings, no chemistry between two will exist
Without physical touch, umm..all above seems useless right?

Your relationship is way hotter when you have both.

Definitely both. I've had some start off with the physical drawing me in and others where it's someone I wouldn't have gotten involved with if I hadn't given them the time to get to know them first.

A physical connection can keep a bad thing going for a very long time, and that is a wolf in she eps clothing. however no relationship(other than friends) really can succeed on just an emotional connection. If I am not turned on by you physically, How can I want to be with you exclusively...?

Neither. Physical chemistry can fizzle, especially as time passes, beauty fades, wrinkles deepen and pounds creep on. Emotions can turn on a dime and can be shallow, too.

What's most important is a spiritual connection, one that is hard fought. The ability to make a commitment, to be willing to forgive wrongs 7x70 times, and realize that loving a human being means loving a person with inherent flaws.

Sometimes we think the grass is greener on the other side, but really, we just need to aerate, water, fertilize and tend to our own lawns.

Physical appearance may change from time to time as well as emotional attraction toward the loved ones.

There is no guarantee that person who you have strong physical and chemistry attraction now, may stay stronger after 10-15years or more.

What is important is the togetherness, acceptance of each other flaws, compromising with each other, say sorry whenever it is needed, communication and understanding.

Well it all depends on how you all see to it and want it to go..for a relationship , with or without responsibilities.
  • Emotional connection. I interpret this as being in love and caring a great deal for one another.

Physical chemistry is important but for me personally I need the emotional connection more.

i'm incapable of experiencing physical chemistry in the absense of some kind of emotional connection.
    TLDR: both

I want it all. There are days when the emotional is lacking and I need the physical to get beyond the emotional issues and flat out, there has to be an intellectual connection. I dated a beautiful man, there was an emotional connection and a physical one, but he bored me and I just couldn't get over it. I want the man who challenges me to see beyond what is in front of me, to challenge me to be a better individual and lover.

  • GAWD I hated Physical Chem. in college. Hardest class I ever took. I'll take emotional connection any day.
  • Physical connection is an emotional form of bonding, they are one and the same thing. All aspects of physical contact reinforce the emotional bond between two people. It's why we mate for non-reproductive purposes, to reinforce those bonds.

You can have the best partner in the word, funny, kind, humerus, great parent etc but if you have mis-matched physical bonding needs or levels of attraction then one or both of you is going to suffer emotionally.
