How is my diary?

Hey guys!

I just wanted some reassurance that I am doing everything okay. I eat between 1300-1600 calories a day and burn 600-800 calories daily (mostly cardio/I love to run) with one rest day. I eat A LOT of food because of this and my net calories still are around 850 at the end of the day. If someone could take a look at my diary and let me know how I am doing I would really appreciate it! I try to only weigh myself once a month and I want to make sure I am doing this right before I get to the end of the month and realize I didn't loose any weight.

PS: I live abroad so it is hard to measure everything accurately as possible since I am not used to the metric system.

Thanks!
Alicia

You're probably eating more than you think.

Buy a food scale. Weigh everything. Don't use those 'generic' entries. Don't use cups. If you make someone's recipe (like skinnytaste), weigh everything and enter it in the recipe builder... I've seen some recipes that said a serving was 350 calories and it was really 550.
  • From everything you post, and from what I see - Diary of day 17 MONDAY, you are doing pretty well, eating lots of veggies and fruit, although you don't log your water intake! Very important, try to drink water through the afternoon and morning (but never during meals).
Breakfast must be around 400 calories, so you're fine. You also snack little, and when you do it's on food, that's good. Dinner full of veggies: fantastic!!
Keep cleaning lean, green and clean, doing great :flowerforyou:

Your exercise burns are over-estimated by about 50%.

    Why no water at meals?

They may be a little over estimated but I don't think by a full 50%. I go to the gym for about 2 hours a day, I run 5 to 6 miles a day plus do the bikes and elliptical. I also walk about 5 miles a day (to work, to school, etc) which I don't even log, so I think i'm pretty close with calories.

I am also curious about the water with meals.

Some people believe that drinking water during meals dilutes your stomach acid and therefore means your body takes longer to digest the food. I don't personally think this has much truth to it, and certainly ignores the fact that drinking water with a meal will help you feel full so you are likely to eat less overall.

Also LOL at "breakfast has to be 400 calories". I have approximately 650 calories for breakfast every day and it sets me up perfectly for the day. Mmmm breakfast...
