SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A mother upset about "indecent" T-shirts on display at a Utah mall found a quick if not especially convenient way to remove them: She bought every last one.

Judy Cox and her 18-year-old son were shopping Saturday at the University Mall in Orem, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City, when she saw the shirts in the window of a PacSun store.

The shirts featured pictures of scantily dressed models in provocative poses.

Cox said she complained about the window display to a store manager and was told the T-shirts couldn't be taken down without approval from the corporate office. She then bought all 19 T-shirts in stock, for a total of $567. She says she plans to return them later, toward the end of the chain store's 60-day return period.

The shirts cost about $28 each on the website for PacSun, which sells beach clothes for teenagers and young adults.

Nothing against how the mother feels about how she views what's appropriate or not in her opinion, but I hope she has a lot of money to keep buying t-shirts. How the heck is she going to "protect" everyone by doing this?

Although I applaud the effort, I think her energies would be better spent in raising her son to respect women rather than to shield his sensitive eyes. I mean, a mother can only do so much sheltering. At some point, it will be up to her 18 year old son to determine how to act on those images, and form an adult opinion of his own. She can't be next to him all the time.

Plus (tah-dah) they have more shirts in the back and bare chested mannequins are dirty.

Lol, do you think she ever had the "talk" with her son? I'd love to hear the explanation.

Why is she offended by it? It's not her daughter in a bikini, these models weren't forced to pose.
It's just a shirt. Would she buy every movie with an undressing scene to save people from seeing it? Hmmm.

I need some extra cash so I'm moving to Utah with a trunk load of porn. Did it mention her address by chance?

Conservative people can be offended by what they perceive as "sexually explicit" in public. The thing is that the t shirts are the least of her worries. Wait till her son gets hold of some free online porn.

Yep. I've visited Utah and it doesn't surprise me at all. Probably happens often, just doesn't make the news.

I don't think it is a very wise way to spend your money.

I hope the store denies the return, then helpfully points the patron to the new display of similar T-shirts in the window.

I'm betting her son now gets bombarded with sexual taunts. Totally the opposite effect of what his mother hoped for.

I bet she won't be able to return them, not after those "mystery stains" show up on them...

Same kind of BS with people who constantly write letters about TV shows they disapprove of being aired on television. That's what the remote is for. You don't get to choose what everyone else in the world looks at or watches or believes in. You only get to choose for yourself. That's kind of the premise of America. I sincerely hope that PacSun tells her there's a time limit for how long she can wait to return the shirts and that she's exceeded it. That's what you get for trying to push your morals on everyone else in the world, honey.

As much as I believe in freedom to wear what you want and if you have teenagers it is up to the parent to help guide that teenager as to what is appropriate, this women also has the freedom and the right to buy up all the stock if she disagreed with what it stood for and represented.

More power to her to do what she felt was right for her and her views. However, she may go broke very soon if she keeps trying to put her views upon everyone else.
