Is this considered a cheat meal?

Saying 'get a grip' may not be nice, but is good advice to my mind, I'm afraid - there's no need to worrying about insignificant levels of calories that are being discussed.

I was at least 400 calories of cookie over yesterday. My world didn't end. Maybe I'll lose 1.6oz less this week - actually, I think that's worth it for the cookie-calories :D.

    This.

It got your attention, didn't it?

You're stressing too much and unnecessarily. No one wants you to do that.
Like he said in the quote, unless you have digestive issues, your meal probably fits well into a well-balanced, adequate calorie diet.

If you're trying to lose weight, calorie counting works great. Food isn't poison, it's nourishment.

The only problem I see is that you might have measured using a cup rather than weighing the cereal.

+1. I don't see how cereal, for breakfast of all things, could be cheating.

Because cereal is usually full of sugar, and there are plenty of other ways to have breakfast - most of which include a lot less sugar and a lot less calories.

"a lot less calories?" My goodness I'd hate to see what a normal breakfast quod like by those standards. 3 egg whites perhaps and a slice of low calorie, dry toast?
No. Plain oats and nonfat milk?
    Iced coffee?

I rarely find cereal worth the calories. I do however eat cereal along with a banana and almond milk.

I would rather have a bacon and egg sandwich for 220 cal.

Plain oatmeal would be hard for me to swallow.

My point is...we all have different tastes and as long as we can fit in those foods that we love...then why not? Life is about living and enjoying it...not worrying about whether a bowl of cereal is somehow cheating and destroying our lives because there might be some added sugar in it.

I rarely meet my sugar allotment that MFP gives us...so if one day I want something that might have a little too much...I don't worry about it.

Well, in a average day I eat a bowl of oats with nonfat milk, a 70g can of tuna, carrot sticks, and two scrambled eggs. It adds up to about 500 - 600 calories, plus an extra thirty for every iced coffee which is about 1 or two per day. I get on just fine without those calories.

That's unhealthy, no way around that. I'm sure you get on "fine" because you are used to it but it is not OK. Especially because (from looking at your other posts) you want to appear more toned, this is the complete opposite of what you want to do. You are already a low weight and eating like this will only continue to burn lean body mass which will actually increase your BF%, not decrease.

^this... Sounds like you have an abnormal view of your bodies actual needs. Less is not always more. I think you need to speak to a professional about it as you may have or be on the verge of an eating disorder.

Yep. My BMI is close to hers ( a little higher ) and I eat 1800-2500 a day. I can't IMAGINE eating 600. Ugh. Before noon maybe.
I'll throw a party with full sugar cupcakes and champagne the day everyone stops trying to tell me about my supposed eating disorder. Or was it the other way round?

Well you're the one who brought up the term "eating disorder", but since you did...It's not a "supposed" eating disorder if you not only think it's okay to eat this way...but encourage others to do so. It's incredibly unhealthy. The reason people with eating disorders get hospitalized is because they are not eating enough for their organs to function. To say you health was **** before, but think it's good now is not true - you've just traded one set of issues for another. Thin does NOT equal healthy.

You could get defensive and angry because people are calling you out, or you could look at the advice from people who have been around the block a bit and learn something.

It's funny, because when EVERYONE ELSE tells me I might have a problem, I start considering that they might have a point.
I mean, what's the chance that doctors, nutritionists, fit people and people who are not yet fit but getting there would all be correct?

    Pretty damned high.
It's called "maturity". Step up and fix your issue.

There's nothing wrong with sugar. In fact, from a biological standpoint, it's very much a good thing.
Doesn't it burn pretty much directly into fat?
Not at all. Every cell in your body relies on sugar for fuel.
Even if that's the case, it's still extra, unnecessary calories.

It's her breakfast (I assume) so hardly unnecessary calories. It might not be the wisest, or healthiest choice for breakfast, but it's still under 300 calories! Definitely not a cheat meal though.

Just now for breakfast I ate one cup of honey bunches of oats with almonds cereal (the serving size is 3/4 cup. 1 cup is 170 calories) and natural almond milk (1 cup, 60 calories)

I'm aware that cereal isn't too good for you even the most "healthy" kind because of the sugar but is this a cheat meal?

LOL is a sixty calorie meal a cheat meal…hell no!

now if you ate the whole box maybe..

is this even a serious thread?

A cheat meal is like eating a whole large pizza from dominos..or something...

You might do now, but in the long run you will do yourself harm. Plus if one day you start eating a normal amount, you'll pile on weight. You said in another thread you want to lower your body fat percentage. To do that you'll probably need to do more strength training, and on such a low calorie diet that will not be effective.

You're right...if you are truly 21 as your profile says you can make your own choices. However...when you post on a discussion forum something that others don't agree with they have the right to respond with their opinions.

Based on scientific data...what you are doing is unhealthy. Based on common sense what you are doing is unhealthy. You probably know that or at least you should but you have chosen to defy scientific data and common sense. It is your right to do so...it is our right and in a sense a moral obligation to point that out.
