Pickles!

Hi all!

Would love to hear how you guys eat your pickles! I love the crunch of a good garlicy dill pickle, and for only 5-10 calories each you can’t go wrong!

I sometimes chop them up and eat them with cottage cheese (which gets me a lot of weird looks) but I’m looking for some new ways to eat them!

My boyfriend and I have been absolutely hooked on baked "fried" pickles lately!

    What you need is:

Jar of sandwich sliced pickles (we get the Claussen ones from the refrigerated section, the flavor is better)
    flour
    Frank's Red Hot sauce
    Panko

Cut the pickle slices in half, place them in a large ziploc bag with some flour and shake till they're lightly coated.
Dip the coated pickles in the red hot and then coat them in Panko and place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
Put them in the oven on broil for 5-8 minutes (till they brown a bit) then flip and repeat.

These are seriously so good and they're pretty low-cal!

    YUM!! That sounds delicious!

As for the sodium , I'm not too concerned. I have extremely low salt levels to begin with so if anything it would help!

Usually an entire jar in one sitting, reserve the juice for brining.

The Claussen pickles are for sure where it's at, I could easily demolish a jar in half an hour.

Straight out of the jar is usually how I eat them, but I've definitely been known to put them on a grilled cheese. I'm not even gonna lie I'm one of the freaks that drinks the juice too, I LOVE it! I will SURELY be trying those baked "fried" pickles this weekend, I've missed fried pickles something fierce.

Grilled ham and cheese sandwich with dill pickle sandwich slices and dijon mustard. Seriously to die for. I put the ham on the sandwich first, then one slice of cheese, pickles, then a second slice of cheese, then the second slice of bread. The cheese melts and kinda holds the pickles in place on the sandwich.

pickle roll ups with turkey, ham or dried beef (not beef jerky)
take a piece of turkey/ham/beef, spread cream cheese or laughing cow cheese and then roll up with a pickle spear in the middle. Sodium bombs but yummy.

In for thick! *looks at OP funny for putting them in cottage cheese* I put them on my veggie burgers, or just eat them plain. I used to eat them with peanut butter when I was younger.

One of my friends makes her own pickles - they are so spicy and garlicky and delicious! I eat them with everything and because the pickling juice is nothing but vinegar, garlic, and spices/peppers I drink it without fear of too much sodium.

My fave is a pickle, avocado, and havarti open-face sammie on multigrain bread.
