Can we talk for a minute about "Cauliflower Rice"

I love all forms of cauliflower but I gave the cauliflower rice a try with my stir fry last night. DELICIOUS! And you can really work in the flavors to pair with what else you are making,. So i added ginger, onion and garlic. It was so tasty.

Is cauliflower rice something you can purchase already in rice form, or do you form it yourself? I've never heard of this.

I do cauliflower mashed potatoes with some sour cream and garlic. Tastes so much like garlic mashed potatoes!

And would you say it's tastier than actual rice?

it tastes nothing like rice. it was good- but it's not rice.

and ultimately it was too time consuming. (no food processor- I used a cheese grator to try it)

    but yes it was good.

No you can make cauliflower into a lot of things. Pizza crust, rice, mashed potatoes, etc... just in the way you cook and prepare it.

Why would you do that to a poor cauliflower. I think I'll stick with rice

Why not just eat cauliflower if you like it, eat rice if you like it, and please don't ruin pizza crust

This post came right on time. I was going to ask how to make my veggie stir fry lunch have less calories. I'll have to try this. The other question is how to make tasty with less sodium. Right now I'm using Kikkomon Teryaki sauce.

Cauliflower rice is awesome. I prefer it to normal rice. And it has more nutrients than normal rice too.

I just leave out the rice- eat veggies and chicken.

    easier than wrangling fake rice.

Um, cauliflower "pizza" options, not so much! I tried the pizza breadsticks recipe and oh my it was just wrong on so many levels. :noway: Not sure I'll waste a head of cauliflower to try any pizza style recipe again. However, the Cauliflower Soup from Iowa Girl Eats is amazingly good. It is yummy but you can tell it's cauliflower even though it touted as a sub for potato soup.

To each their own though, right?!?

I think I like cauliflower better than actual rice :P
I prefer it when it is just roughly chopped though. Whenever I've tried to make it in a food processor, it comes out like a paste.

You basically grate up a head of cauliflower and it resembles rice.

Cauliflower is cauliflower. It tastes good and is pretty dang healthy.

It is NOT rice, pizza, mashed potatoes, or anything like that. So stop with the cauliflower "rice". Just call it small pieces of cauliflower!

Ok, I will call it "small pieces of cauliflower used in the same way as rice" to appease you I guess.

Or normal people can just call it cauliflower rice.

Hmmm...so you're telling everyone to eat what they like, but to not use what they like in place of regular pizza crust...
