Hi has anyone Tried any Gimmicks ? Like Flush the Fat, Lipozene , Hydroxycut, Ali. Any supplements like Green Tea, Garcia Cambodia or Raspberry Key-tone ? Do any of them work ? Whats a good thing to boost your metabolism? What about Nutrisystem, Jenni Craig or Weight Watchers? What about the belt that works your abs or the clincher that slims you as you where it. Any cleansers or special diets that work ? Have you tried any of these things? Did they work?
Advice is needed.
This will just be a booster not to substitute Diet and Exercise..

One piece of advice, don't spam your question across all the groups. ( I already put my response in another group you posted in)0

What? You say has anyone tried gimmicks? Well they are gimmicks.. so why ask? :noway:0
-
Weight Watchers is a success because its a failure - you can lose weight much quicker and easier on your own. As for all the gimmicks - they are called gimmicks for a reason. Just eat at a deficit and find an exercise you enjoy. If you really want a boost, take a multi vitamin or something. oh and drink water0
-
Yes, I've tried them. No, they don't work.
Though I will add, Weight Watchers isn't a "gimmick" like some of the other things you mentioned. It's just a different way to track your food and exercise. I lost 15kg on WW in the past and it taught me a lot about healthy eating habits and I met some great people, but in the end I could no longer afford it or keep up with my meetings and well... here I am!0 -
How many threads are you going to create asking the same question.
Save your money, if they worked would we all be here trying to lose? Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig etc yes they work because they portion your food and you are in a calorie deficit. It's much cheaper and better tasting food to cook your own, get a digital scale, learn portion control. If you decide to do a Nutrisystem type program are you going to eat that way for the rest of your life?? I hope not because that would just be miserable.
Log your food, create a REASONABLE calorie deficit, find an activity you like. Keep it simple.0 -

if there was a magic pill, would Oprah still be obese? she can afford to buy any gimmick/pill out there, and yet she's still struggling with her weight.... that's all you need to know to answer your own question.
the good news is that counting calories works! here's a very brief introduction into what's important for weight loss:

here's a longer introduction covering some of the same topics in more detail:

be patient. set realistic goals. log everything accurately. be diligent. stick to it. the weight will come off. don't be too hard on yourself if you have a bad day or a bad week... we all do. your path from point A to point B will not be a linear one. it never is for anyone.

Do some Light exercises or may be even simple jogging/walking will do . Also drink atleast 10 cups of water , esp. try to drink 2 cups of water before each meal . That would defienitely make you eat less & increase your Metabolism rate .1

plus, you're 19. Why even CONSIDER a gimmick at this point in your life?0 -
We have tried them all...
The one that works is:
Eat a little less
Move a little more
You can't "jump start" anything...it's not a battery1 -

^^^^This
Before joining MFP, I tried Lipozene (didn't work), Alli (just gave me oily diarrhea) and Nutrisystem (I actually liked the food, it worked until I tried to maintain the weight).
Also, someone mentioned that Oprah wouldn't be heavy if there was a magic potion out there; that poster is correct.
Further, be suspicious of anything promoted by that medical w***e

Here are some tips to 'boost' your weight loss, in addition to eating fewer calories and exercising:
>Mix up your exercises. Always walking 1 mile after work is better than walking no miles, but you'll need to increase your amount sooner or later. Keep yourself from getting bored (and likely to quit) by adding in a wide variety of workouts.
>Trade one soda/juice/alcoholic beverage for 2 glasses of water or tea every day. Substitute more and more of your drinks with water each week until you drink mostly water with the occasional sugary beverage.
>Keep healthier snacks convenient. It's so easy to fall into the trap of, "I'm hungry and all I have is junk." Nuts, baby carrots, homemade granola, and other healthier snacks are easy to keep in your car/desk/house.
>Eat slower. You're more likely to realize your full if you are conscientious of what you're putting in your mouth.
>Weigh your food. It's so easy, I don't know why everyone isn't doing it. The MFP app has a scanner so you can scan a package of food and immediately enter it into MFP. I recommend logging your food right BEFORE you eat it. That way, you're less likely to overeat and then realize it later.
Good luck on your goals.1 -

There is no easy way to lose weight and get healthy and nothing out there will get you seeing results over night so save your money. it's hard to be patient but stick with it, control your portions, log everything you eat-good or bad-, don't start a workout program that is going to be impossible to keep up with at first, start by going for walks or doing easier exercises until you are ready so you don't get frustrated and give up. you already know that that other stuff is useless and a waste of money, so why ask?0

My mom tried Jenny Craig once. It only made her fatter.0

I've tried the following: Rasberry key-tone, Garcia Cambodia, Slimquick, Dexatrim, Nutraquick (probably doesn't even exist anymore) Hydroxycut (this made my heart beat way too fast. Very scary!!) - all of these did NOT work. I've even tried diet chocolates (yes, they do exist and yes, it's a ripoff) .
There are other things I've tried over that last 35 years that I can't remember and I've been on and off Weight Watchers for the better part of 20 years. I even tried this workout program that had to do with breathing properly in order to get enough oxygen in your lungs and into your system which will help you lose weight! I sent it back and got my refund. And don't get me started on excersize programs!!! I've fallen for so much bull out there. There's always someone coming up with the latest and greatest, and all I can say is that I would have been better off just literally burning my money.0 -
They don't work. Just log honestly, stay within your calorie guidelines, and exercise.0
