Most amusing response to "you've lost weight"?

As my weight loss is becoming more noticeable, I'm trying to figure out how I should react to people commenting about it! And the usual "thanks I've lost a few lbs through calorie counting and exercise" just seems boring and stale. What could I say to really mess with people?

Ex: "Yeah. Cancer is great for weight loss. Thanks for noticing" then look sad

sometimes I feel like saying.."Yah and I see you found it..." but never do...that's just mean....

I usually just say ...Really you sure...???? *looks around back at my butt nope it's still there...

or Naw just wearing black today.....

I find women don't get that often...seems like people are "scared" to say anything ...

Similarly, I lost a bunch o weight and saw some people I hadn't seen in a few months . One reaction:
Them: 'OMG What happened to you?!
    Me: 'I got sick'.
Them: scuttled sideways a bit. 'Oh.'

I was actually sick, though, and needed surgery to get my gallbladder out. It was the 3 month wait between the problem arising and my new strict diet that dropped weight so quickly! LOL

Please do not use cancer or other illness jokes. It is not a joke when the other person has a patient in the family, or has lost someone to such an illness, it is somewhere between insensitive and cruel. My niece is currently battling leukemia, and you can see her ribcage, where she used to be overweight a year ago. I cannot even begin to describe how her parents or friends would feel if they heard you joke about cancer as a weight loss method.

I agree. There's so much witty responses than any kind of illnesses.

I agree with this. The 'cancer' one isn't really amusing

I tell them that I cut my hair. If they insist that it is more than that, I reply that I also shaved my beard so my face looks thinner.

I was told I no longer looked pregnant or take up a lot of room on the couch when I started to show my weight loss progress. I tell people in return that my socks no longer feel tight.

"I didn't lose it, I got rid of it on purpose."

"Losing it would imply it was easy, I WORKED at this."

"I might have lost it, but I haven't missed it!"

Or you could just go with the ever-classic: "thanks for noticing!"

You know that kinda reminded me, a month after I had delivered my baby an acquaintance walked up to me and asked 'I forgot, when are you due?' ????

I've gotten something similar to this when my toddler was six months old. An old co-worker of mine rubbed my belly and made the statement that I was working on baby number two. Funny, because I didn't recall that night of passion happening.

    Yes.

It amuses me because it forces the other person to ask more pointed questions. Essentially, act like Microsoft Help.

About ten years ago I went through a spectacularly dramatic divorce and I had zero appetite for a week or so. I lost 10-12 pounds rapidly and had many a female coworker beg for my secret. I would whisper excitedly "I got a divorce!" and then squeal and clap my hands. I never heard if any of them tried it or not. <shrug>

You can make light of any situation.

Some people choose (yes, make a CHOICE) to be offended over small things.
