I'd be down for all of this as long as you had the right bourbon. Makers Mark doesn't cut it.

If you say Wild Turkey...need not apply.

HAH.. I wouldn't clean my paint brushes with that.

I'm talking Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve. Pappy Van Winkle.

Ah opinions, you know what people say about those...

I'm a certified bartender on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail (yes, I had to attend school for that), and to say you "wouldn't clean paint brushes" with Wild Turkey clearly doesn't reveal the respect that Wild Turkey holds in the bourbon community. You like what you like, but also be careful not to bring in presuppositions when WT isn't marketed in a "glamourous" fashion.

Wild Turkey holds it's own. But then again, I've met very few bourbons I can't appreciate. :drinker:

I'm a scotch girl myself, I rather pair the Verse and pizza with a good Islay...if I make it to the Browncoat Ball next year, I should really figure out a way to drag some along.

I stand behind the highland malts...but if you MUST have bourbon I have this one in the cupboard:

    angelsenvy.jpg

Tastes like honey, aka a little too sweet for my scotch loving taste buds.

Angels Envy is very good, although it's not technically a bourbon by definition. A bourbon must be aged in a never-used, charred oak barrel. Using a barrel which was used to hold port actually declassifies it as a legit bourbon, believe it or not.

BUT again, yes, it's good stuff. Different, but good.

I like what I like. I do not like Wild Turkey. It doesn't have to be anything more than that.

I'll gladly follow you to the highlands but as for bourbon, here's where my heart lies...

It's not sweet, hits the pallet smoooooth and goes down like cream soda.

...did I mention that it was cream soda that's not sweet?

Drawn to thread by mention of pizza.
