If I were you, I would work on my mental health. Yes, adding strength training will make you strong, but some of our shapes are genetically determined. Learn to love yourself. Don't allow imagined physical imperfections to dictate your self worth. Take pride in your character, your work ethic, your talents and all the other things that make up the total package.
You do not need to lose weight, nor should you.0 -
Hey lovely, I know how much of a struggle it is to live with these things. First of all, you are perfectly healthy as you are. You do not need to lose weight. As others have suggested, maybe try some weights if possible. Do some body weight exercises, you can search for them online. As you get more comfortable, maybe you can start adding weights by purchasing a small collection. However, running will improve your mood. It does for me, it makes me forget my worries and troubles for a while. It's a natural release. I wouldn't worry so much about your weight. Also, 100 is underweight for you so please don't do that.0

100 would look worse than 130. I started at 139, down to 124 so far. I agree at 130 I was still very dissatisfied.. but I'm getting there. I started weightlifting and that has helped immensely because I think what you're unhappy with is the way your body looks.. not necessarily how many lbs you weigh.0
-
100 is entirely too low for 5'4".0
-
Girl, you are unrealistic.
I'm 5'4 and my goal weight is what you are NOW!
If you want to lose flab, start weight lifting. Get those muscles tight. You do not need to be any thinner than you already are. Especially 100 lbs.
^^^ This^^^
Same height and goal weight here....just tone up a bit and you will be fine. 100lbs is to thin.0 -
Don't listen to these people telling you to lift weights. How in the world are you going to lose 30 more pounds if you are packing on muscle??? Unless you wanna look like a dude LOL
*facepalm* Please do not listen to this ignorant advice. Weightlifting is excellent for body recomposition, which is clearly what you're looking for, since you are already at a healthy weight, and 100 lbs would be unhealthy underweight.

I was 100 lbs (97 to be exact) 3 years ago. Those were the genes I was given. Here's a picture to show that people can be 100 lbs and both look and be healthy:
You're not meant to be 100 lbs.
Aim for 115-120 instead.
Do lots of weight training. Two great programs to follow are The New Rules of Lifting for Women and Strong Curves.
For food… incorporate a lot of fruits and veggies, lean meats, eggs, greek yogurt, nuts/seeds, hummus, cheese sticks, etc. And drink a lot of water.
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 1 slice toast, 2 slices of bacon
Morning snack: greek yogurt with berries (I like Dannon light & fit greek yogurt quarts because they have 18 g protein per 1 cup for 130 calories)
Lunch: 4 oz. protein, sweet potato, veggies
Afternoon snack: 1/4 cup nuts and an apple or banana
Dinner: 4 oz. protein, brown rice, veggies
Late night snack: protein bar or protein shake0 -

LOL. Do you know how hard it is for a woman to build muscle? It's almost impossible for a woman to look like a "dude" because we don't produce testosterone. A woman's body won't allow her to look like a man.
Please educate yourself in weight training before you make absurd comments.0 -

Dumbest post of the day award, right here! ^^^
I agree that 100lbs is too low for someone who is 5'4. I think the 115-120 range would be better, and still considered a healthy weight. And I'll jump on the strength training bandwagon. Create a modest deficit and lift or do body weight exercises if you don't have access to weights.0 -
The 2, 4, 6, 8 diet is really good. You eat 200 cals one day, 400 the next, then 600 then 800 then you repeat. Keep repeating until you reach your goal weight!! I recommend you stick to only fruits and veggies, maybe some non fat yogurts and oatmeal.
You can do it!!!
OP: DO NOT listen to this advice. This person has no idea what they are talking about. Eating less than 1200 calories a day is extremely dangerous. Your body will go into starvation mode. Therefore, you need to eat AT LEAST 1200 calories a day. That is the bare minimum. You need to find out your TDEE. http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/0 -
Fruits are good!!!
That was some bad advice!
Refined sugar does hurt, mostly because it causes cravings.
All in all, keep your diet simple and clean, not too much processed foods, and calculate how many calories and track them.
There are no foods to banish, but I avoid highly refined sugars and flour because I can't handle them. But that's just me.
Rule of thumb, if the ingredient list is short and you recognize the ingredients from grade school, probably a good choice.0 -
Ok so if I were to increase my goal weight to around 118lb, what sort of food should I be eating and avoiding? What sort of exercises would be good to loose the extra flabby bits of fat, but not gain loads of muscle? I'd like to be toned and firmer, just not visibly really muscly
Why would you not want to gain loads of muscle? Muscle burns calories. Muscle makes you healthier. By all means gain muscle! You won't look like a body builder. You'll look fit and healthy.0 -

Please don't give advice like that, that's just detrimental0 -
Your measurements are great. 100 pounds is too low for your height and body (I am saying this, myself weighing 102, but I am shorter). Do lift weights. I lift weights, I don't look like a dude. Do get help for your mental health.0

I think you shouldn't aim to lose 30lbs, but aim to replace 15lbs of fat with muscle. I got to 124 last spring and (at 5'4.5") still looked, ...skinny fat…. I gained some back and am now lifting weights and doing cardio on opposite days, I'm trying to get back down to the size of clothes I was at 124, but to be a lot stronger and look more toned. I'm 134 right now and am a 34C as well, so I'm not talking through my *kitten*… I get where you're at.0

Is it possible your depression is making you hate your body? Focus on your mental health and weightlifting.0

You don't know what you're talking about, haven't lost any weight, and advocated dangerously low calories elsewhere in this thread. Time to talk less and listen more before you hurt yourself and others.0 -
Please concentrate on your mental health. If you need counseling and medicaiton please get that.
However, when I eat whole, healthy foods, I am SHOCKED at HOW HAPPY and WELL I feel that I wonder if the DEPRESSED are STARVING? I typically eat Dr Joel Fuhrman's anti cancer GOMBS diet bitter Greens, collards, kale, turnip tops, watercress. Onions. Mushrooms. Beans Berries. Seeds. No dressing cheese or meat.
Typically a woman is told to estimate 100 pounds for 5 feet of height, and 5 pounds for every additional inch. So at 64" you should weigh around 120 pounds.
I am a pear shaped gal and was flat chested when thin but ate my way up to 242 44D. Now when I run inside on my trampoline I have to hold my breasts. I can't wait to get this 5-10 pounds off of my back and shoulders.
And because I am happy and independent, man always liked me; young and flat chested and now 54, 230 and 44D.
The best to you my dear.0 -
Before you start dieting and working out go sort out your mental health. Its why you hate your body. I suffer from BPD and im the same, but i weigh just over 20 stone. Learn to love yourself before thinking about losing weight0

If you're fighting depression, excercise is one of the greatest things that can happen to your getting better mentally!
Trust me, been there, done that. I was a lazy, depressed fat slob untill I started working out.
First of all, you've been given great advices here. Weightlifting is the way to go.
You need strength training and a healthy nutrition program.
Since you're a vegeterian, it will be tough, because you need protein for preserving muscle and general satiety. Consider dairy (low fat cottage cheese) and whey protein since those two contain enough leucin which is wery low in plant based proteins. For fats you'll want nuts, seeds, avocados and olive oil. You need fats to keep your hormone levels in balance. This is very important.
Protein will help you preserve muscle and the will keep you full and satisfied and you won't have so many cravings.
Pay attention to fruits - they are healthy but moderation is key here.
Just cut refined stuff. And please don't go under 1200 kcals. You will look like a malnutritioned twig without any estrogen and you don't want that, trust me.0 -

Sullengirl78 - if you have actually done this, how are you still ALIVE???? I am new to this, but I did LOTS of research before I began. EVERYTHING I looked at told me that women should never have less than 1200 calories per DAY. This is for basic survival so you don't put your body into starvation mode. I truly hope that NO ONE is taking your advice.0 -
