For all those who don't want a real crust but also wouldn't be caught dead eating the travesty that is cauliflower/broccoli crust.

2 firmly packed cups grated raw potatoes
1/2 t salt
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c grated onion
vegetable oil

Preheat oven to 400. Spray a 9 inch pie pan. Place raw potatoes in a colander and salt. Let set for 10 mins, and squeeze out water.
Mix potatoes, egg, and onion. Pat into pie pan, building up the sides.
Bake 30-40 mins or until golden brown. (After the first 20 mins, brush with oil to crispen the crust.) Remove from oven and reduce heat to 375 for the rest of the pie.

Now the crust is ready!

Or, if that doesn't strike your fancy (What with white potatoes being the devil and all) how about this one!

Sweet Potato Pizza Crust
Ingredients:
1.5 cups mashed sweet potatoes (~2 medium sweet potatoes)
1.5 cups almond flour (other flours would probably work too)
2 large eggs
1 large egg white
1 cup shredded cheese (I used mozzarella, but any kind would work)
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
Your choice of toppings
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; mix well.
Cover a pizza pan/baking sheet with tinfoil and coat with non-stick cooking spray. (I used tinfoil because my pan had holes in it, and I didn’t want the dough to fall through, but you could probably nix the tinfoil if you’re using a regular baking sheet.)
Using a spatula, spread the dough evenly into a large circle about 1/2 inch thick.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until center is firm and edges are lightly browned.
Remove crust from oven, add toppings, and bake for another 5-7 minutes until cheese is completely melted.
Remove pizza from oven, slice and enjoy!

For sure. You see the carbs and the sugar in the crust don't count in these dishes because there's none of that evil man altered wheat or gluten, just wholesome potatoes. And the carbs/sugar from potatoes are different than the ones from wheat, and thus are good for you.

    Science.

"Real" pizza or not, I would still nom both of those. Thanks for sharing!
And I agree, carbs and sugars from real foods like fruits and vegetables are special...the nutrients and fiber make them so.

Why do people always come into these threads and hate on potatoes?

SOME OF US LIKE POTATOES, OKAY?

I recently made a similar crust, but with shredded zucchini. It wasn't exactly low calorie but my husband & I both really liked it!

Giant latkes are not pizzas. They're giant latkes.

Why do people insist on calling things what they aren't? If you want pizza, eat pizza. If you want latkes, eat latkes. But don't pretend latkes are pizza, and don't pretend pizzas are latkes.

I feel the same way about people desperately trying to convince themselves that mashed cauliflower is mashed potato. Why? It's mashed cauliflower, so call it what it is and enjoy it.

So says the title, but the recipe is clearly a latke recipe, just oven baked instead of griddled.

Look, just because you disagree doesn't mean you get to decide what things are and aren't and what can and can't be called something. It says pizza so it's a pizza.
