I am also 5'2" and have about 30 pounds to lose. I tried last year but gave up after only losing 2 pound in 2 months and being hungry all the time. And I can't exercise much due to disabilities, so calorie counting is the way to go for me. This year I decided to shoot for losing half a pound a week. I also calculated my TDEE and make sure I eat under that every day. Doing it this way seems a lot easier. I am also focusing on more protein and less carbs and that seems to help hunger as well. Lost about 4 pound so far in a couple of months. Now I am back down to my starting weight of last year and hoping to keep going going gone!0

5' 2" 120 lbs. Lost 15 on 1200 cal diet but the last 5 is not moving! I workout everyday burning about 400 cal per day and no budge on the scale. Help
(Not sure if I should respond because I'm a guy but what the hell...)
1200 is too low. Based on your age and gender, I'd recommend at least 1600 calories (not including your fitness level). Your body might be conserving energy since calories are too low so metabolism is slowing down.
I don't know your weight so I would check out these websites-
http://www.webmd.com/diet/calories-chart
Also check online for TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) calculators. You plug in age, height, weight, activity level and it'll tell you how many you burn. There are a few methods so try all 3 and then I'd pick the low end of the number (2100-2300 calories, pick 2100 calories).
Here's a good TDEE calculator http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/0 -

Me too! I am 5' 2 and 1/2" and started at 170 and have lost 2lbs this week, starting over. I hope to get to 135. I used to weigh between 125 and 130 and was happy there. So long ago I am afraid. I turned 50 and the weight just kept creeping up. I am trying this time to change my eating habits, use portion control and exercise a bit more. I would love to be apart of this post0

Lost 40lbs in late 2012/early 2013, gained some back at the end of 2013 and then lost that again this year. Back at the weight I was pre-kids/early 20s and hoping to maintain around here. Currently following the TDEE method for counting calories (slowly upping to maintenance right now!) and in the Alpha phase of T25!0 -

Hi! I am 5'1" and my CW is 165. Have lost 4.6 so far and have about 45 more to go. Will see how I look and feel then and may want to lose a little more. It feels like I have been on a diet the majority of my adult life and it always seems I take one step forward and two steps back. Have not been able to lose weight and keep it off but now at 40 I realize this is not going to get any easier. I am committed to doing this and this time around I am finding it a little easier with the support of MFP friends. Anyone feel free to add me.0

Hi I'm 5' 3/4" almost 5'1" & 34 yrs old. I've recently started putting on weight & I'm not sure why. I don't know if its the medication I've been put on or my metabolism is starting to slow or if I'm just lazy. I've never been one to work out but I've always been active. Now I'm working out but the weight isn't going anywhere. I'm in need of some movitating friends & people who can relate to just not feeling godd about the way the look and ready for a change.0

Definitely need to jump on this thread  I'm 5' on the dot and right now weighing 216 (which is my highest EVER!!) My eventual goal weight is about 120, but we'll see what feels good when I get down there. I'm not concerned with the weight number as much as I am with what fits and looks best for me. I've been struggling a lot lately and need to get my butt in gear!!0
