When I get hungry at night I eat.0
-
I save up most of my calories for before bed. This is when I feel the most comfortable eating. I know my day is done. Nothing unexpected will happen that affects my eating or exercise. I can get an accurate total for where I want to be. I have always enjoyed eating before bed.0

I plan ahead, knowing I like a late snack, so I budget my calories to have a splurge at night.0

does anyone else have trouble posting a new topic? I can comment to everyone else but I cannot make a new topic myself.0

I definitely do. I drink a big glass of water and then some hot tea. If I'm still hungry a personalized bag of popcorn is nice snack for me.0

Great idea to plan ahead if you know what your eating habits are. Choose nuts, yogurt or something healthy (or not, it your calories allot).....lol Doesn't really matter what or what time as long as it's in your calories for the day.0 -
I'm not hungry at all in the day time, and will be miserable if I try to eat a small dinner. I just bank the calories and have a big dinner.0

I drink chamomile or mint tea sometimes with stevia. Low calorie popcorn, sometimes a few nacho chips. I'm starting to think I eat more at night because I need salt. I've only been writing down food for two days now....so maybe not! toast with peanut butter. I made pumpkin pudding today. It's ok. It's supposed to keep me away from ice cream...0

For me, I say No Eating at Night, if I get really hungry I eat a protein bar or popcorn otherwise chew gum and tell myself I can have it tomorrow. I just make myself do it and think of those clothes I want to wear.0

if iam hungry b4 i go to bed ill eat a peice of fruit and call it a night0

I log a total 24 hours 12AM-12AM. I eat every 4 hours at least. If up after midnight, those calories go on the next day. If you log sleep to sleep, you need to plan ahead for meals to cover your time awake so you don't surpass your goal by too much. I find my way is much easier for me.0

I feel like I'm not losing like I should because I eat at night.0

I guess I am a strange one. I have been very successful by eating starting at 5PM to 5PM. So my log chart looks like this
Dinner
Snack
Breakfast
Snack
Lunch
My doc told me about this so thought I would give it a try. It still is within a 24 hour period. So I start counting my calories at dinner so if I have a party I go to at night or out to dinner I don't stress about it then have a low calorie breakfast and lunch. I still have a deficit in that 24 hour period but realize this isn't for everyone. I love it and don't feel stressed out anymore.0 -
I eat when I'm hungry. So I guess I would eat a bowl of cereal if I woke up in the night from hunger.0

When you eat has no impact on weight loss. The amount of calories you consume does.0 -
I do eat at night as well. As the others have said, I plan my meals. I skip breakfast or eat my first meal as a late(ish) lunch then snack and eat my dinner late 7:30-8ish then snack before bed! The snacks may or may not happen depending on how hungry I am that day. Most important to me is that the calories are available if I need them during the times I am typically hungry.0
-
I'd go for nuts, cereal, fruit, protein bar, yogurt or something like that if i am hungry after eating dinner or staying up later than usual.0
-
I usually distract myself with Pinterest haha but I also make sure I allot enough calories so that I am able to have a snack at nighttime0

What's this obsession with peanut butter and apple? It seems to be on everyone's guilty pleasure list!
Am I missing something special?!0 -
Lol. You are missing something special. I think pb is awesome with just about anything but with apples is super awesome!0
-
I eat the bulk of my calories at night :noway:
I wish I could ditch the habit0 -
If I am hungry, I eat. If you are using MFP to track, make sure your settings are correct. Most people are not sedentary and should start with at least the "Lightly Active" option. Also, don't try to lose too much too soon. Setting your weight loss goal to 1 or 1.5 lbs. a week will give you more calories to eat as opposed to trying to lose 2 lbs. per week with less calories allocated. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies along with drinking plenty of water.0

Sugar free chewing gum and a tall glass of lemon water will normally subdue my late night hunger pangs.0

Right then - I'll give it a go!0 -
I began to notice I would get hungry about 10-11pm at night, so I started going to bed at 9pm and I don't eat late anymore.0

I do most of my working out at night and afterwards am usually a bit hungry but I don't sleep will on a full stomach so usually will not eat after 4.00 in the afternoon. If I'm a bit peckish I will have a protein bar after my workout and lots of water. I eat the bulk of my food in the mornings.
I have never ever woken up in the middle of the night hungry coz I like my sleepy time too much.0 -

X calories a day are still X calories a day no matter if you eat them at 8 AM or 10 PM. They don't gain special fat building powers after 8PM. Just eat when you are hungry and stay in your deficit..0 -
I do all the time. I just yell in my head, " DON'G DO IT! PLEASE DON'T CHEAT NOW!!!" Lol0
-
I believe the "secret" is to pick nutritious foods when eating late. When I'm tired, I'm more likely to go for chips than carrots so
I try to plan ahead and select something before it gets to that point. I also know I like a late snack so I plan for it and save back those calories to make room for it.0
