They are one tough food to count and match up on MFP database ....

My rule - Eat them on "cheat day"

    Hope it helps.

    Ok... so here's the visual:

Is this one wing? Or two?

    Or is this one wing?

I've been logging both as 1. But they are some high calorie bits of chicken so I've kind of been avoiding them.

Please do not avoid if you like it. I eat them on my cheat day.

Buy boneless wings, weigh boneless wings, eat boneless wings, repeat as needed.

Actually, on the bone has a different flavor from boneless.

that's because they are glorified chicken nuggets, in my opinion

I eat chicken wings every week; fried, grilled, baked, etc. and each cooking method leads to a slightly different calorie count. I count all three sections as one wing. Oh, and I love the crispy tips but then what born and bred Buffalo boy wouldn't....LOL

my logic may be faulty, but i would count either of those as one wing. I usually round to 80-100 cals....80 with just sauce, 100 with sauce and delicious ranch dressing..

    Blue cheese or GTFO!

Since there is no day that my body does not respond to the calories I consume, I don't have cheat days.

I do eat them, just not often enough that my lack of accuracy is going to affect my ability to balance my diet.

    In the words of Davpul....

    "You're over-thinking this."

I thought he said "lift stuff and eat stuff" or some such nonsense.

    Joffed.

I didn't actually realize, until now, that chicken nuggets *could* be glorified! But you're right! .... *off to the store for boneless chicken wings*

    (BBQ sauce, thanks)

For accuracy, weight each one before you eat it, eat it, then re-weigh what is left. The difference is how much you consumed. A tedious process if you are eating several. Or just count each one as a single unit and realize you might have over estimated calories a bit.

LOL. We all have our strategies. As long as we're eating varied, balanced diets at an appropriate number of calories, it's all good.
