I had to donate every single pair of shorts. Sizes 10 and 12s to 2s and 4s this year! I wish there was a misses size 3. 2s are snug and I feel like 4s won’t last.11

I asked the trainer at my gym to show me proper squat form and a couple of variations (bar, hex, resistance bands, dumbbells) that I can work up to as my knees get stronger. I was really nervous to ask, because it's been so long since I did any lifting (like... college, and gym culture was super gross and demeaning back then), but he seemed to understand that I was coming off an injury and a long break and just needed the refresher to feel comfortable enough to add weight.15

I stepped on the scale today and up a pound. How can that be a NSV? Well let me tell you... I am down another 1 inch off my waist! Since the start in January, I have now lost 5 inches off my waistline.
So to sum this up... scale is moving, sometimes the wrong direction, but the tape measure does not lie and I know that I am making progress.29 -
My eating is all over the place- giant mess, but at least my exercise is locked in? Even when I don’t feel like it I get up and am active13

IAmTheGlue wrote: »My NSV is that my 22 year old son decided he is eating too much fast food and wants to lose some weight so… he came to me. Guys… he was like “I have no idea what I’m doing” and “you do” 💪
So my NSV is someone thinking I have lost enough weight to know what might help them.
That's awesome! I've had a similar experience at work. Several people have asked how I'm doing it and whether I'm still weighing and logging my food. Then they tell me about the pre-cooked meal program they are trying AGAIN.12 -
Yesterday, I volunteered to "Adopt a Highway" after work. I have participated in the roadside cleanup for years and part of the protocol is to wear a yellow safety vest so we can be seen by passing drivers. For the first time ever, not only I was able to close the vest around me, I wore it over a jacket!35

So.... today, I bought a cream puff. That wasn't the NSV, but the way I went about it was. A couple of things happened there. One, they had other items with double the calories that cost less. My bargain-conscious self would never have passed that up before. And two, they told me that if I bought six I could pay quite a bit less for each one. I passed that up too because I truly, honestly, only wanted one and I knew I wouldn't want one the next day. So I guess that was kind of 3 NSVs. Besides, 180 calories wasn't really all that bad for a treat, especially as rich tasting as that was. So I ate it slowly and really enjoyed it and I don't feel any guilt, or any danger of going back to get more.
(By the way, I used to be that girl who would go to the dollar store and load up on snacks and eat them all in two or three days, by the box. I'd been like that for decades. So this is really a big change of pace for me.)41 -
I had two yesterday:
- Went for an ultrasound on my kidneys, liver, gall bladder and spleen to see if there was any damage from my years of abusing my body. Liver was a bit fatty, but rest were perfect and the Doctor & Nurse almost fell off their chairs when I said about my weight loss, and told me to keep going and my liver will be perfect as well!
- On the way home, I realised for the first time in 7 years I was comfortably wearing my shirt tucked in to my jeans. Every top I've worn in that time has basically been a dress! Was very happy:

Yesterday for lunch I decided to treat myself to a salad delivered from a favorite restaurant. In the app as I ordered, I got a message for "you've earned a reward! One-half your favorite sandwich! Expires soon!" so what the heck, I added that to the order. It was free! And both combined were about 700 calories. I'd probably be a bit over, depending on what I ate for dinner, but whatever...
I thought after I ordered, "I should just eat the sandwich. save the salad." then I opened the bag and there was the half-sandwich ("oh, that's so small! Yeah, I'll just eat both.") and half a baguette, and a bag of chips.
I ate the sandwich, and then I looked at the salad and thought, "naw." I took it home for dinner, had it with the baguette, gave the chips to my roomie, and came in under calories for the day.
SUCH an NSV. In the past I would have eaten it all and maybe been looking for dessert. The spur-of-the-moment stuff trips me up SO often, so I'm delighted that I seem to be learning to think through my impulses.34 -
While trying to find something to wear for date night with DH I had to try on 8 different tops before I found one that did not look ridiculously big on me.27 -
I got new work shirts in a 14 (previous were 18 and getting pretty baggy- I could have gotten away with a 12 but I was hesitant to order 12s because I didn’t think I was “there” yet. I have been looking forward to hitting size 12 but I didn’t think I was as close as I am- I do have a few size 12 items in my cupboard but I think they may be large 12s) anyway I digress. I stood up after our pre start meeting and my workmate exclaimed- oh look at you in your new shirt- you’re so skinny- I couldn’t tell how small you were in your old shirts! My boss, who has lost a very significant amount of weight herself, just smiled knowingly at me and nodded (I think I looked over at her with a confused look on my face)21

I've had two knee surgeries so the thought of squats makes me cringe. I wonder if I can do squats again (meniscus injuries..nothing more) 🤔 good on you for going for it. That takes guts after injuries and long breaks.6 -
I tried on shorts I haven't fit into for 2 years. Not only did they fit easily, I needed a belt!20

i Have logged breakfast and lunch so far today. First time in weeks I logged anything.
Also so far I have avoided the mindless munchies this morning. That one is a bigger help for losing weight than the not logging thing for me.16 -
Was pushing on my lower back and my shirt got stuck on the belt. Was like huh? I don’t really need a belt so don’t wear it often, but I bought it and it has these cool locking magnets(it snaps makes me feel like I wear Batman’s utility belt 🤣) Came to realization that the large belt seems to wrap almost 1.5 times around me. If I tightened it I’d be probably very close to the full 1.5 times around me.

I have a big art related event coming up this weekend. I'm considering it my "red carpet moment". While I still have 30 pounds to go, I'm excited to wear a dress and to feel beautiful going in. Several of my girlfriends helped me select this outfit out of a number of dresses and skirts I bought. All of them in a size 14 fit!! I can't wait.53

@coblujay Beautiful dress. Beautiful women. Congratulations on your weight loss success and good luck on your art event.8

Awesome. That is so exciting!!!!
OT: Is that a Jedi dog painting?
I’ve got one our daughter did of our old dachshund wearing a beret and sporting a pencil thin mustache. And another of him curled in his favorite chair, under a blanket, with only his nose showing, lol. That dog had the personality of a roomful of hoomans.7 -
I started out in January 2021 weighing in at 250+. I was mourning the death of my husband, my pancreas was going wonky and I just wanted it to all be over. One day I looked at myself in the mirror, sans clothes, and I decided that I had enough. I joined my gym in July 2021, started working hard on my nutrition and getting enough sleep. After a couple of months, my clothes started getting really baggy, but I did not want to get anything new....I was still clinging to my 'fat' thinking. I finally had to give in, since I could not walk a few steps without them falling off my butt. I eventually caved in and decided to hit the store. In January 2021 I was wearing a size 22 jean and a 2-3XL shirt. I put on and easily zipped up a size 12! I would wear a smaller than Large tee shirt, but I am too...gifted...up top! Oh yeah, and I am doing a bodybuilding comp in 2024. Time to make another dream come true!38

@fatty2begone @springlering62 Thanks! I can't wait.5

WOW CONGRATS. 🎉 What an incredible story. How much weight have you lost so far? DO you have any fav go-to meals?2 -
I ordered new Cowgirl Tuff jeans in a 28x33 which is equivalent to an AU12. My measurements are almost at a 12 so I figured I would buy them to fit into soon. They got here yesterday and I held them up and was like “no way are they gunna go close to fitting, they are so tiny!” My partner told me that I would fit them and if not I would be very close to fitting them so I tried them on with his encouragement. They actually fit comfortably, my belly isn’t flattering in them so won’t be wearing them for a couple of weeks, but it’s good to know that I can comfortably fit a 12. It used to be my ultimate goal size, I never believed I could get smaller because of my “big bones” but now that I’m here and I still have quite a bit of fat I’m carrying I’m thinking that I will end up in a 10, maybe even an 8! I never dared to believe that I could get into an 8 and maybe it won’t happen, I’d be stoked with a 10, but I still have about 15Kg to lose so I’m just excited to see where that lands me 😊20

(Currently on a "diet break" or what I call "maintenance at goal weight + eating back exercise calories")
Weighed out one serving of some cookies and cream popcorn candy thing. Put it in a little bowl, brought it back to the couch. The hubby says, "Is that ALL you are going to eat?!" Incredulous. "Yes. If I want another serving I will have one later." This sort of thing used to give me severe peer pressure eating issues with some FOMO. But now, I just look at it as what it is. A serving of a treat, no more, no less.21 -
Today I tried on a UK size 16 top and it fitted. First time in over a decade I can fit into that size. Seems such a small thing but it felt amazing to me. I have been trying to lose weight for so long, and it's taken a genuine health scare for me to do it. But I am doing it. So very very slowly but I'm ok with that
People here get it.22 -
Bittersweet but size 20 jeans don't fit so my summer clothes from last year don't fit.13
-
A shirt that used to always be my favorite is now too big, and I need to give it away or donate it.12

I went to the Polish festival this weekend, and bought a medium size t-shirt! I could have bought lots of clothes that actually fit. As a previously 2x-3x size this was impossible in previous years. I am wearing it right now! Some pretty poppies with "Polska". I don't think this is an NSV, but I didn't eat any food there. I really don't like meals from the Polish side (or the German side), unless it is baking! The line for the baked goods was around the whole parish, and the hubby didn't want to wait until next week. But, I had saved 1,000 calories just for that moment of baked goods - maybe next year we will have more time to wait in line!17

I got a candy bar at the corner store mid afternoon and just ate the one. It was a standard size, not king size like I have gotten in the past. (In the past, the sweet from candy would of course make me want to balance it with salty chips).
And then still stuck with my planned food for dinner. For me , huge NSV. And I’m still in a calorie deficit for the day. Although small, it is a deficit! 🎉🥳
