After living with an umbilical hernia for a very long time, I finally met with a surgeon to discuss repairing it. While it is medically necessary to have it repaired, the fact there will no longer be a noticeable bulge in my abdomen is an added benefit.

I have a disability so use a wheelchair full time and struggle a lot with just trying to balance on the scale to get my weight.
The past few days my weight has been going up and I was feeling quite sad about it...until I realised I was balancing without holding anything!
I think the weight loss has a lot to do with it and I probably weighed much more than I initially thought due to having to hold myself up!

I had to buy some new clothes for work. I bought a size down from my “regular “ size in tops and pants. I still can’t believe it. 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Clothes shopping was a little more enjoyable as well. When I drop more weight it might actually be fun. This is SO worth any little tidbit of food I thought I missed.17 -
Did 50 minutes on my paddle board all standing. Felt really good, could have gone an hour easily but had to head out to coach a soccer practice.15

Although a light rain this AM, I ran and walked the dog. Didn't melt so guess I am not made of sugar24

I sent my baby boy off to college yesterday , and only went about 50 calories over goal for the day. I did a little emotional eating but went to the gym in the afternoon and reined in the eating for the rest of the day. Gotta get in that gym therapy!32

I have had my weight off 4 years and so no one says anything any more about my weight (actually had weight off for 10 years but 4 years ago had a hiccup, gained 25 lbs but happy it is off). A lady at my gym I had not seen in years says you look so good, so healthy, a glow. I thought yes I do feel good and it feels good to have 40 lbs off! I am hard on myself thinking I need to lose 5-10 lbs but No I am happy I am not where I was!26

So inspiring... Although I am not yet where I want to be I am so grateful I am not where I was. Thank you for reminding me of that.19 -
My bingo wings have tightened up and i can feel hard muscles in my arms!!17

IvyandEleanor wrote: »In December, I had the symptoms of a stroke and was taken to hospital. After a few weeks of tests I was diagnosed with Hemiplegic Migraines (they cause temporary paralysis of your limbs and face). One of the tests they did was cholesterol which was high at 6.7mmol. Anyway they did a follow up blood test and I found out yesterday that my cholesterol is now 5.6mmol!!! 😁 I'm not quite in the healthy band yet (needs to be below 5mmol) but I'm really proud of how much I've managed to reduce it by in just 5 months and will keep going 😊
I know this post is old but if you are still on here and open to connecting, id love to know how exercise has effected your Hemipelagic Migraines. Exercise seems to be my trigger but not consistently. After 2 years of episodes, I was diagnosed last month.10 -
Mine is getting off the floor. Sounds silly but 60 lbs ago doing a workout on the floor was impossible for the up and down so I stopped and have been doing workouts standing or sitting. Well, today I did one on the floor and it was so much easier to get up!31

This is not silly! That is awesome. Keep going. Seriously, being able to get down and back up off the floor quickly and efficiently is literally a test doctors use to gauge your health. I’m super happy for you!
It’s called the Sitting-Rising Test or SRT if you want to look it up.14 -
I woke up even though my alarm didn't go off! I think my body is getting used to this morning workout thing!18

I am able to wear shirts that just a few months ago were too tight!20

Someone on here quoted someone else (I think) saying "When you started, you would have LOVED to be where you are now! And if you quit, you'll be back where you started!" That's what I'm reminding myself, especially when it goes slowly. It doesn't matter if the going is slow--Just don't stop!19 -
I've officially run out of jeans that fit. Thankfully it's the summer so I'm still in shorts.16

I have lost 20 lbs (with more to lose). I saw someone yesterday that I have not seen since I began losing weight. She gushed over my make up. Kept telling me how great it looked. I only wear a touch of make up and it was no different than any other day. I am certain it is the reduction of fat in my face that made my face look better. My eyes seem bigger and my cheekbones are starting to show.22

That’s an awesome NSV! I bet you were beaming from all the praise.
I feel like I have the face of my youth back. Hello cheekbones!! I’m 45 and losing weight absolutely reverse aged me. It tightened up my jawline, took that puffiness out of my face.
My NSV is for the first time ever since I’ve had an Apple Watch or maybe since they started monitoring sleep.. I hit my sleep goal, which is 8 hours.
I was having so much trouble sleeping until I read about Casein at bedtime to help your body repair, and it’s working.15 -
I was able to fit in some L tops--used to buy 2X so that's nice to see. I used to be a medium, so perhaps I'll get to that soon. Down to 14 in some pants; 20W was my largest. Gotta mark the milestones; I'm not great at that.22

I was able to prevent an early afternoon snackiness from turning into an all-out rest of the day binge. I went over on calories but it could have been way worse if I’d have said “*kitten* it” after the first slip.21

That is so awesome. You've done the work and now others can see it too.5 -
So I was on a video conference with a couple of my coworkers, one of whom is my boss. She was talking about needing to replace her scale and how it wasn't giving consistent numbers even though she had fresh batteries. I noticed she was being incredibly careful to only reveal the very last number and the decimal on the scale, not admitting what the first two numbers were. I felt compassion for her because I spent most of my life feeling that way. So it's a huge NSV to realize I'm happy to casually discuss my weight and though I still am not at goal weight I no longer feel crippling shame over it.24

We went to Lowes this morning and ran into one of my husband’s co-workers. The NSV here is I was not mortified to be there…where people can see me. I no longer feel like a ratty old hag.
I think husband is gorgeous. Just this big bearded, sexy, rugged lumberjack kind of guy & there have been times we have ran into someone he knows and I was gutted to be there. I’m sensitive about not being good looking enough to be beside my husband if that even makes sense…
20 years ago, I was married to someone else and well… trim, perky, youth in full affect, my exhusand and I ran into his coworker who went to work and did the whole “have you seen his wife? Smoking hot! Man, I feel differently about you. You never know who someone has at home…your wife could have been some (literally describing me a year ago)” I have been very self- conscious about those type of random meetings in public since then.28 -
I bought a bathing suit this year a size smaller than I had been wearing!20

I understand this feeling. I never really put words to it. When at a healthy weight it never bothered me to meet my husbands co-workers, friends etc. At a bigger size I hated it. Whether it was a surprise crossing of paths or a planned get together I was uncomfortable. I am down about 20 lbs and more comfortable. But your statement reminded me how this was never a concern before. I need to get back to that. Motivation 😀

Yes - It absolutely made my day. I am 44 and hope to have some of that reverse aging happen 😀8 -
A cashier asked me if I was over 25 when I was buying wine at Sainsbury’s 😆 I’m 53…
Maybe she just does that to cheer up women of a certain age but still made me laugh22
