My NSV is I did not worry. For the last week we have had family staying with us (haven't seen them for two years) and a total week of celebrations. Last Sunday we had "Thanksgiving dinner with all the apps, wine and trimmings at my nieces new house, today is my birthday. I will only be 3/4 of a Century once so there will be rack of lamb, good wine and THE CAKE (DH makes a chocolate four layer cake filled and iced with homemade whipped cream).
My weight went up to the top of my maintenance range but today is back at the bottom. I did not resist treats or be that annoying person who picks at dinner and today...LET ME EAT CAKE.
It was worth the joy and sharing and I just go back to tracking if the expected spike doesn't go back down.
I know this may not work for everyone but I feel empowered.18 -
My bathrobe used to gape open at the bottom when I tied it. No more -- the two sides now overlap19

Was on a trip, been eating anything I wanted. Had spent the previous day at a baking class making these beauties, and ate my fill of them for breakfast.
Was feeling bloated and swollen, heavy footed and ginormous.
Walked in to check out a well known workout gear place based in that city and when the girl asked to help, told her I wasn’t sure of the size. Reached for a medium. She politely told me,”I think you can wear an XS” and swapped what I had in my hand.
The second part of this NSV is, I wore those XS to yoga this morning. As sick as I was before we left to come home, and as run down and wombly as I’ve been feeling, I immediately fell right back into logging, weighing and workout out on my regular schedule.
Now, if only I could work out the pet sitting issues with the High-Anxiety Cat-Traumatizing Dog.
I got 16,000 steps in yesterday simply trying to clean up the carnage inside the house and I’m not done yet. Wtf?!!!! By all indications someone (or two…or three) in this house should be totally bald by now. There is thick fur on every surface, high and low.
*sigh*21 -

I paddled in my first-ever dragon boat race today. It was fun!25

On Saturday, we went out to see my fiancé's buddy play in his band. I decided to join in the dancing when they played Cotton Eye Joe, Cha Cha Slide, and Cupid Shuffle during the intermission. Made it through all three dances with energy to spare!22

I had rolled oats for dinner instead of the fish and chips everyone else was eating.16

My wife and I went on a wandering road trip over the weekend for our anniversary. Drive time has always been snack time for me. I made a small bag of pretzels last the whole weekend AND I recorded them. :-)16

Wanted a chocolate bar and a sandwich. Went to the supermarket and brought a single banana and am making clean peanut butter cups at home.15

I’ve started doing up my bra behind my back instead of having to do it in front and then twist it around. Surely that’s some sort of progress.
I remember years ago when I went to see a GP about a shoulder problem and she mentioned that I should come back if it progressed so I couldn’t do up my bra for example. She herself was quite skinny - I don’t think she realised not everyone can do it up in the back regardless of shoulder injuries.17 -

I agree this is progress!! I can now zip up my own dresses in the back.... .something I took for granted back in the day. Flexible shoulders is an extremely exciting NSV! 😉 CONGRATULATIONS12 -
My mini victory is now j have lost 12 lbs I can fit back into my favourite cargo pants. I couldn’t get them over my thighs earlier this year 😭19

I attended a party this evening, where they served delicious food and wine. I really had to psych myself up to go, because I knew it would be a calorie challenge. Stuck to 1/2 glass of wine, and only raw veggies from the food table! This was a HUGE win for me, as the food they served was some of my favorites. Yay me!26

One of my walks seems much shorter!16

Today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Bad sleep, bad mood, felt bloated/old/blah, etc....One of those days you want to hide and can't. Thankfully it's going better now thanks to these NSVs:
1.) I made myself go to the gym anyway.
2.) I discovered a GREAT workout to do on days like this.
First I did the 30-minute beginner express circuit that uses light weights and high reps. The machines are simple to use, and there's a traffic light that tells you when to stop and start.
After that, I walked on the treadmill at a slow pace with the incline cranked up. The incline got my heart rate up without the mental stress of running, so it suited my mood perfectly.
I tend to judge myself harshly if I'm not challenging myself every time, but you know what? Some days I'm just not mentally up for that, and that's OK. Now I have an effective yet "braindead" routine that will let me suceed even when nothing else seems doable. Yay!
