Had a completely crummy afternoon/evening yesterday. Anger, rage at stuff I cannot change. Got home and did not order 4 people's worth of food. Prepped lunches and dinners for the rest of the week and had some orange Baileys as 'treat' rather than vodka and beer.
NSV
However this morning I am still struggling and work is not helping as it increases rage as I cannot complete tasks due to other people's incompetence and argh!! Less food access though. although I may go and get a hash brown - yunno, just to get away from my desk.....

My wedding dress fits comfortably without Spanx (I was barely in it WITH Spanx on my wedding day)! This works for me as an NSV at more than one level, but notably, I love that this defies the stereotype of 'letting one's self go' after marriage (which of course I did, but now I'm getting it back).22

You know those drawstrings in the elastic waists of knit pants? My waist and hip measurements were almost the same so I never needed the string. Yesterday I had to pull the string up 2 inches and tie it to keep my pants on.29

I need to get my glasses re-sized. I LOST WEIGHT IN MY HEAD! WTF?!37

What I like to do is channel my anger into my workouts. If you're into exercise it can feel amazing running or doing crunches, or punching a punching bag and being all like Rocky Balboa. Like "Take THAT Ivan Drago!!"11 -
Put on a pair of athletic pants this morning - the loose sort with the wide waistband and a drawstring - that I haven't worn in several months. They fell down. The drawstring was tied off, but I never needed it to hold them up; the waistband was enough for that. Not any more, though, and they're ridiculously baggy. Good thing I work from home.18

I would absolutely love a combat class tonight - unfortunately they stopped running them. So I have lifting the heavy things which does mean I can tune out to focus on lifting the heavy things.
Then I get to go play squash which is epic stress relief12 -

Girrrlllll...I soooooo remember those days, when I was literally FILLED with anger, rage, resentment and more bitterness than you can shake a stick at, I was ALWAYS looking at the incompetence, the foolishness and yuck of others (especially those close to me) and those "thoughts and feelings" completely held me hostage and caused such binding stagnation in and thru me and one of the only forms of relief for me was "shutting down" mentally and stuffing my face with all kinds of "comfort" foods and junk physically --UGH, I how HATED being out of control with all the yuck that filled my heart and mind. I've got a "success-story" about how I was completely and totally "delivered" from that way of thinking, living, doing and being. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10609909/any-love-mercy-forgiveness-diet-success-stories-pls-add-and-pics-would-be-great/p1#latest
All that said, you ROCK for not falling for/in the trap/bait of eating or drinking your way to comfort--you have come such a long way and have made tremendous progress in your transformation...you ROCK, period.

Noticed veins sticking out of my forearms after my workout last night. Haven't seen that in years. Body fat must be coming down.16

At gym super late last night...after 10 PM as I suffer with insomnia and was trying to get fatigued. I was so far into the zone that I did not hear this guy saying something to me...he stepped to the mirror to get my attention...just to say: "see around here during the day too.....great work.....its paying off". Such a great feeling to have others acknowledge what hard work this is...18

ALL of the weight I've lost since I re-started/re-commited 166 days ago (just .2lbs shy of a total of 31lbs--YAY) completely was without ANY exercise. I am now led to begin adding exercise into my daily regime...I've got an additional 35.2lbs or so left to reach my goal of 140lbs (from 206lbs). I'll be mostly walking, stationary bike, elliptical, treadmill and lifting weights here at home). I did a 30 minute Leslie Sansone video this morning and it was exhilarating to/for me. Not too hard and not to easy--I DID IT--the whole video!
I'm so looking forward to this new adventure of adding exercise everyday--it was FUN!23 -
Just completed training at the local dog rescue and am now cleared to walk dogs! My dog passed away in 2015 and my life hasn't been stable enough to adopt another one so this volunteer work will help me scratch that doggie itch AND, as a bonus, add extra activity to my days. Win, win!44

Scale-related NSV?
Had my follow-up with my Dr this morning since being put on blood pressure medicine a month ago. He was psyched not only for my good blood pressure (I was VERY hypertensive), but also for the "awesome" 10lbs I'd lost since last month.
He said, "You're doing it right: on your own (i.e. no pills or gimmicks). I have nothing to say to you except 'Keep doing what you're doing.'"
Hearing some outside validation and encouragement is really a great motivator!37 -
I haven’t run a 5k in almost a year (darn injuries)—needed to get out and enjoy this beautiful fall day and actually ran! And it felt good! Almost a minute off my best 5k mile split, but I’ll take it.16

I've had a very painful Fatty Liver (feels like I've taken a good few punches in the ribs) for a long time
After 120 days logging, losing 47lbs, woke up and noticed the liver pain had dimished by at least 90%

I didn't have access to a nearby gym for quite a while but I started going to the YMCA gym recently. They offer a "Ythrive" program where they offer custom training programs. The trainer knew the time of day I normally came in, and said she had noticed me several times. One of the other employees knows me by name. NSV: becoming noticed as a regular at the gym!28

I slid my wedding and engagement rings all the way on. It's been five years since I wore them. So happy!34

Went shopping today for a dress to wear to our staff Christmas party in a couple of weeks. Decided to check out one of the thrift shops to see what I could find. And did I find! Got a jean dress that is lightweight, a bit of stretch and a good length (at knees). It was a size medium and I hoped that it would fit but could always bring it back. Took it home and, oh my, it fit perfectly!!! Just tight enough to show the curves but not too tight! If I do say so myself, looking pretty good And, given that I will be 60 in a few weeks, feeling pretty good right now! Now I just have to find the right scarf/cape to go with it. Must be plaid.35

@NewLIFEstyle4ME - thanks I am a lot calmer today
Swam 2500m - longest swim in a while and have a day of cake and samosas and chip shop food to look forward to - all pre-logged and will still be under by end of day
Definitely logging this week as major NSV as I think it is the first time I have properly resisted an emotional binge and pushed through it without needing to go back and address it with food! lol22 -
Attended a concert last night. To get to my seat in the middle of a LONG row of seats, I had to scooch past a couple dozen people. It was physically easy and I wasn't too self-conscious.
It really drove home what a difference losing 22% of my starting weight has made in my quality of life. :-)19 -
Last night I flexed in the mirror (I know, I know), and I saw guns. Me! Guns!
GUNS!53 -
I had enough confidence to post my success story today.30

Yesterday my go-to trusty work skirt...slid off. I was wearing a coat, thankfully, but yeah I can't wear that anymore.26

YAY YOU, I'm so GLAD to hear it...I'm cheering you on

Another coworker compliment. I went out with my coworkers after work for some happy hour cocktails. It was casual Fridays and I wore skinny jeans. As we are drinking and talking in our group one of my coworkers said, "wow your waist is so tiny. I didn't notice since you usually don't wear form fitting clothes." I've been big my entire life. I think this is the first time in my life someone has referred to me as tiny. I'm sure being a pear shape with very broad
shoulders makes my waist look really small. I told her I don't really feel like i'm small yet. It's taking me a while to adjust and I still have 8 more pounds to lose to reach my first goal weight.21 -
I ran my first ever 10kthis morning. 1 hr 12 minutes I did not walk a single step I am so proud of myself.36

Walked around Walgreens this morning while waiting on a prescription to be filled. I was having a little sweet tooth, so I wandered over to the candy aisle. A couple months ago, I would grab a coke and a bag of peanut butter m&ms to take home with me. Today, I read labels on a bunch of stuff but couldn't decide on anything I felt was worth the calories. So when they called my name to get my prescription, I grabbed a cherry sprite zero and left.27

Not related to food/weight but to the new dedication I found when I joined MFP. I went to Paris with my family this August. I had some rudimentary French but decided to improve my skills and installed Duolingo app on my phone in April. Well, I certainly improved my French by the time we went to Europe but today I completed the entire course even though I no longer have the practical need of the language!! Next steps - watching some movies in French on Netflix or Youtube. That's what my husband does to improve his Japanese.
It's nice that the dedication/persistence extends not only to tracking food/exercise but also to other areas of my life...29
